28:4

The fact is that Fir’on elevated himself in the land and divided its people into groups, one group of which he persecuted, putting their sons [newborn] to death and sparing only their females. Indeed he was one of the mischief-makers.
Meaning:-
Elevate: to raise or make higher in some respect, to promote, raise to a more important or impressive level.
Persecuted: to harass or punish in a manner designed to injure, grieve, or afflict.

28:5

But We wanted to favor those who were oppressed in the land, and make them leaders, and make them the heirs,
Meaning:-
Oppresse:to burden with cruel or unjust impositions or restraints; subject to
aburdensome or harsh exercise of authority or power:
Heirs: successor, beneficiary

28:6

And establish them in the land and show Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and [his minister] Haman and their soldiers through them that which they had feared.
Meaning:-
Haman: It is commonly believed that Hamân was in charge of architecture during the reign of Pharaoh at the time of Moses

28:7

So We revealed Our will to the mother of Musa: “Suckle him, and when you feel any danger to his life, cast him into the river without any fear or grief; for We shall certainly restore him to you and make him one of Our messengers.”
Meaning:-
Suckle: breastfeed, feed, nurse

28:9

The wife of Fir’on said: “This child may become the comfort of the eyes for me and for you. Do not kill him. He may prove useful to us or it may be that we will adopt him as our son.” They were unaware of the result of what they were doing.

28:10

On the other hand, the heart of Musa’s mother was sorely troubled. She would have disclosed as to who he was, had We not strengthened her heart so that she might become one of the true believers.
Meaning:-
Sorely: to a very high degree or level of intensity (especially of an unwelcome or unpleasant state or emotion).

28:12

And We had caused him to refuse all wet-nurses at first, so his sister suggested, “Shall I direct you to a family who will bring him up for you and take good care of him?”
Meaning:-
Wet-nurses: a woman who breast feeds and cares for another’s child.

28:14

And when he reached full strength and maturity, We gave him wisdom and knowledge. This is how We reward the good-doers.
Meaning:-
Wisdom: the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise.
Doers: a person who gets things done with vigor and efficiency

28:15

˹One day˺ he entered the city unnoticed by its people. There he found two men fighting: one of his own people, and the other of his enemies. The man from his people called to him for help against his foe. Thereupon Musa gave his foe a blow ‘punch’ which killed him. “This is the work of Shaitan, surely he is an enemy that openly misleads.”
Meaning:-
Foe: an enemy or opponent.
Blow: a forcible stroke delivered with the fist.

28:19

Then when Musa was about to lay his hands on a man who was an enemy to both of them, he cried out: “O Musa! Do you intend to kill me as you killed a person yesterday? You only want to become a tyrant in the land and have no intention of reforming anything.”
Meaning:-
Tyrant: a cruel and oppressive ruler.

28:23

When he arrived at the well of Midian, he found a group of people watering ˹their flocks˺. Apart from them, he noticed two women holding back ˹their flocks˺. He asked ˹them˺, “What is the problem?” They replied, “We cannot water ˹our animals˺ until the ˹other˺ shepherds are done, for our father is a very old man.”
Meaning:-
Flock: a number of animals of one kind, especially sheep, goats, or birds, thatkeep or feed together or are herded together.

28:24

So he watered their flocks for them and went back to the shade and prayed: “O Lord! Surely I am in desperate need of whatever good that You may send down to me.”
Meaning:-

28:25

Soon after that, one of the two women came to him walking bashfully and said: “My father is calling you. He wishes to reward you for watering our flocks for us.” When Musa came to him and narrated his story, the old man said: “Have no fear. You have escaped from those wicked people.”
Meaning:-
Bashful: shy or timid
Flock:a number of animals of one kind, especially sheep, goats, or birds, thatkeep or feed together or are herded together.
Wicked: evil or morally wrong, sinful.

28:27

The old man said to Musa: “I am willing to give you one of my daughters in marriage if you stay in my service for eight years; but you may complete ten if you wish. I do not want to put you in trouble; Allah willing, you will find me one of the righteous.”

28:29

After completing the term of his agreement, when Musa (Moses) was travelling with his family, he saw a fire in the direction of Mount Tur. He said to his family: “Stay here, I saw a fire, I hope to bring some information from there or a lighted torch with which you may warm yourselves.”

28:31

Then Allah commanded, “Throw down your stick.” When Musa saw that the stick was writhing like a snake, he turned his back and fled, and did not even look behind. Allah said, “O Musa, come back and do not fear; you are quite safe.
Meaning:-
Writhe: to move or proceed with twists and turns.
Fled: run away from a place or situation of danger.

28:32

Now put your hand into your pocket: it will come out shining white without any harm to you – whenever you feel afraid, draw your hand towards yourself to ward off fear – these are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his chiefs, surely they are wicked people.”
Meaning:-
Ward: guard; protect.
Credential: a qualification, achievement, personal quality, or aspect of a person’s background,
Wicked: evil or morally wrong, sinful.

28:35

Allah replied: “We will certainly strengthen your arm with your brother and give both of you such authority that they shall not be able to harm you. Now proceed with Our signs. You, and those who follow you, will surely triumph.”
Meaning:-
Triumph: a great victory or achievement.

28:36

When Musa (Moses) came to them (Fir’on and his chiefs) with Our clear signs and invited them to Islam, they said ˹arrogantly˺, “This is nothing but baseless conjured magic ˹tricks˺. We have never heard of this in ˹the history of˺ our forefathers.”
Meaning:-
Conjured: call upon (a spirit or ghost) to appear, by means of a magic ritual.

28:38

Fir’on said: “O Chiefs! You have no other god that I know of, except myself. So bake bricks out of clay for me, O Hamân, and build me a high tower so that I may climb it to see the God of Musa; most surely I think him to be one of the liars.”
Meaning:-
Hamân: He commanded his minister and adviser Haman to bake bricks for him, i.e., to make bricks in order to build a Sarh, a exalted towering palace.

28:46

Nor were you at the side of the mountain of Tur when We called out to Musa, but it is your Lord’s mercy that you are being given this information so that you may forewarn a nation to whom no Warner had come before you. Maybe they will take heed,

28:49

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Produce then a scripture from Allah which is a better guide than these two so I may follow it, if your claim is true.”
Meaning:-
Better guide than these two: I.e., the Torah and the Qur’an. The Gospel is not mentioned in this context because, as Jesus himself had stressed, his message was based on the Law of Moses, and was not meant to displace the latter.

28:50

So if they fail to respond to you, then know that they only follow their [own] desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his [own] desire without guidance from Allah ? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
Meaning:-
Astray: away from the correct path or direction, into error, into sin

28:55

When they hear slanderous talk, they turn away from it, saying, “We are accountable for our deeds and you for yours. Peace ˹is our only response˺ to you! We want nothing to do with those who act ignorantly.”
Meaning:-
Slanderous: false, and damaging to someone’s reputation, a malicious.

28:57

They say ˹to the Prophet˺, “If we were to follow ˹true˺ guidance with you, we would certainly be snatched away from our land.” Have We not established for them a safe haven ˹in Mecca˺ to which fruits of all kinds are brought as a provision from Us? But most of them have no knowledge.

28:58

˹Imagine˺ how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except a little. And We ˹alone˺ were the Successor.
Meaning:-
Insolent: disrespectful or arrogant, insultingly contemptuous in speech, showing a rude and arrogant lack of respect.
Dwellings: residence, home, house, accommodations.
Inhabited: occupied; lived in.
Inheritors: a person who inherits something; an heir.

28:59

And never would your Lord have destroyed the cities until He had sent to their mother town a messenger reciting to them Our revelations. And We would not destroy the cities except while their people were wrongdoers.
Meaning:-
Wrongdoer: a person who behaves illegally or dishonestly; an offender.

28:60

Whatever ˹pleasure˺ you have been given is no more than ˹a fleeting˺ enjoyment and adornment of this worldly life. But ‘Hereafter’ what is with Allah is far better and more lasting. Will you not then understand?
Meaning:-
Fleeting: lasting for a very short time.
Adornment: something that adds attractiveness, something added to make a person more attractive

28:63

Those ˹misleaders˺ who are proven guilty as charged ˹of Punishment˺ will cry: “Our Lord! These ˹followers˺ are the ones whom we led astray; we led them astray as we were astray ourselves. However, we disassociate ourselves ˹from them˺ before You. It was not us that they used to worship.”
Meaning:-
Astray: Astray: into wrongdoing, into error, into sin.

28:75

And We shall bring forth a witness from every nation and ask: “Bring your proof about other deities (false gods) besides Me.” Then they shall come to know that in reality there is only One God, Allah, and all that they invented ˹gods˺ will have failed them.
Meaning:-
Deities: a god or goddess

28:76

Indeed, Korah was from the people of Moses, but he behaved arrogantly towards them. We had granted him such treasures that even their keys would burden a group of strong men. ˹Some of˺ his people advised him, “Do not be prideful! Surely Allah does not like the prideful.
Meaning:-
Korah: Korah was the cousin of Moses. Because of Korah’s close association with Pharaoh, he became very rich and started to behave arrogantly towards his own people. When he was asked repeatedly by Moses to pay his alms-tax to help poor Israelites, Korah refused and eventually conspired with a prostitute to damage the reputation of Moses, but Moses was cleared of any wrongdoing.

28:77

Rather, seek the ˹reward˺ of the Hereafter by means of what Allah has granted you, without forgetting your share of this world. And be good ˹to others˺ as Allah has been good to you. Do not seek to spread corruption in the land, for Allah certainly does not like the corruptors.”

28:78

He said, “I was only given it because of knowledge I have.” Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked.

28:79

Then he came out before his people in all his glamour. Those who desired the life of this world wished, “If only we could have something like what Korah has been given. He is truly a man of great fortune!”
Meaning:-
Korah: Korah was the cousin of Moses.

28:82

And those who had desired (for a position like) his position the day before, began to say: “Know you not that it is Allah Who enlarges the provision or restricts it to whomsoever He pleases of His slaves. Had it not been that Allah was Gracious to us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us up (also)! Know you not that the disbelievers will never be successful.

28:83

That ˹eternal˺ Home in the Hereafter We reserve ˹only˺ for those who seek neither tyranny nor corruption on the earth. The ultimate outcome belongs ˹only˺ to the righteous.
Meaning:-
Tyranny: an act or the pattern of harsh, cruel, and unfair control over other people

28:85

Verily, He Who has given you (O Muhammad) the Quran (i.e. ordered you to act on its laws and to preach it to others) will surely bring you back to the Ma’ad (place of return, either to Makkah or to Paradise after your death, etc.). Say (O Muhammad): “My Lord is Aware of him who brings guidance, and he who is in manifest error.”
Meaning:-
Manifest: clear or obvious to the eye or mind.

28:88

And do not invoke any other god with Allah. There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. Everything is bound to perish except He Himself. All authority belongs to Him. And to Him you will ˹all˺ be returned.
Meaning:-
Invoke: call on (a deity or spirit) in prayer, as a witness, or for inspiration, to call upon (an agent, esp God or another deity) for help.
Perish: disappear, to become destroyed or ruined : cease to exist or destruction:

29:10

There are some who say, “We believe in Allah,” But when they face some hardship for Allah’s cause, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But when victory comes from your Lord, they surely say ˹to the believers˺, “Indeed, We have always been with you (helping you).” Does Allah not know best what is in the hearts of all beings?

29:17

You worship besides Allah nothing but idols, simply creating lies ˹about them˺. Those you worship besides Allah certainly cannot give you any provision. So seek provision from Allah ˹alone˺, worship Him, and be grateful to Him. To Him you will ˹all˺ be returned.
Meaning:-
Idol: Fake Gods, an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship.
Provision: the providing or supplying of something, especially of food or other necessities. arrangement or preparation beforehand.

29:23

As for those who disbelieve Allah’s revelations and deny that they will ever meet Him ‘in the Hereafter’, they are the ones who shall despair of My mercy and they the ones who shall have a painful punishment.
Meaning:-
Despair: the complete loss or absence of hope.

29:25

He [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said ˹to his people˺, “You have taken idols ˹for worship˺ instead of Allah, and the love between you is only in the life of this world, but on the Day of Resurrection, you shall disown each other, and curse each other, and your Home will be the Fire, and you will have no helper!”
Meaning:-
Idols: Fake Gods, an images or representation of a god used as an object of worship.

29:27

We gave him Ishaq (Isaac – a son) and Ya’qoob (Jacob – a grandson), and placed the Prophethood and the Book in his progeny – thus We gave him his reward in this life, and in the hereafter he will surely be among the righteous.
Meaning:-
Progeny: offspring, young, babies, children, sons and daughters, family.

29:29

Do you really lust after ˹other˺ men, abuse the travellers, and practice immorality ˹openly˺ in your gatherings?” His people’s only response was to say ˹mockingly˺: “Bring Allah’s punishment upon us, if what you say is true.”
Meaning:-
Lust: very strong sexual desire.
Immorality: is evil, sinful, or behavior that is morally wrong.
Mockingly: making fun of someone or something in a cruel way; derisive.

29:31

When Our Messengers (angels) came to Ibrahim (Abraham) with the good news (the birth of a son in his old age), they said: “We are to destroy the people of that township, for its people are indeed wrongdoers.”
Meaning:-
Wrongdoer: a person who behaves illegally or dishonestly; an offender.

29:33

And when Our messenger-angels came to Lot, he was distressed and worried by their arrival. They reassured ˹him˺, “Do not fear, nor grieve ‘we are the angels assigned for their torment‘. We shall save you and your family except your wife; she will be of those who will remain behind.
Meaning:-
Distressed: suffering from anxiety, sorrow, or pain, showing extreme unhappiness.
Grieve: to feel or express great sadness.
Torment: severe physical or mental suffering, as in punishing.

29:34

We are certainly bringing down a punishment from heaven upon the people of this city for their rebelliousness.”
Meaning:-
Rebelliousness: person likes to challenge authority and break the rules every now and then, ​the fact of being unwilling to obey rules.

29:38

And the people of ’Ȃd and Thamûd ˹met a similar fate˺, which must be clear to you ˹Meccans˺ from their ruins. Satan made their ˹evil˺ deeds appealing to them, hindering them from the ˹Right˺ Way, although they were capable of reasoning.
Meaning:-
Fate: not able to be avoided because planned by a power that controls events.
Ruins: that has been destroyed.
Hindering: to block or put something in the way of, to cause delay, interruption, or difficulty in.

29:39

Musa (Moses) came to Korah (Qarun), Fir’on (Pharaoh) and Haman with clear signs but they remained arrogant in the land; yet they could not go ahead of Us.
Meaning:-

29:40

We seized all of them for their sinfulness: against some We sent a violent tornado full of stones, some were seized by a mighty blast, some were swallowed up by the earth, and yet some We drowned. It was not Allah Who was unjust to them, but they were unjust to their own souls.

29:45

Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book (the Quran) and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah ˹fully˺ knows that which you ˹all˺ do.
Meaning:-
Prohibits: to say that is not allowed.
Immorality: corruption, dishonesty, character, or conduct; wickedness; evilness and sexual misconduct.

29:46

Do not argue with the People of the Book except in good taste – except with those who are wicked among them – and say: “We believe in that which is sent down to us and that which is sent down to you; Our God and your God is the same One God to Whom we submit as Muslims.”
Meaning:-
Wicked: evil or morally wrong, bad, iniquitous, corrupt, sinful,

29:47

O Prophet, We have sent down this Quran to you (similar to that of Musa and Isa). So the People of the Book believe in it, and so do some of these (people of Arabia): and none but ˹stubborn˺ unbelievers deny Our verses.
Meaning:-
Stubborn: is very unwilling to change their mind, unwilling to change ideas or be influenced; very difficult to change or to defeat.

29:49

But this ˹Quran˺ is ˹a set of˺ clear revelations ˹preserved˺ in the hearts of those gifted with knowledge. And none denies Our revelations except the ˹stubborn˺ wrongdoers.
Meaning:-
Stubborn: is very unwilling to change their mind, unwilling to change ideas or be influenced; very difficult to change or to defeat.
Wrongdoer: a person who behaves illegally or dishonestly; an offender.

29:52

Tell them: “Allah is sufficient as a witness between me and you – for He knows all that is in the heavens and the earth – those who believe in falsehood and disbelieve Allah, it is they who shall be the losers.”
Meaning:-
Falsehood: untruth, fabrication, fairy tale, a false statement; lie.

29:58

˹As for˺ those who believe and do good, We will certainly house them in ˹elevated˺ mansions in Paradise, under which rivers flow, to live therein forever. What an excellent reward for the doers of good deeds;
Meaning:-
Elevated: situated or placed higher than the surrounding area.
Doera person who actively does things instead of just thinking

29:60

How many creatures are there that do not carry their provisions with them? ˹It is˺ Allah ˹Who˺ provides for them and you ˹as well˺. He is indeed the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
Meaning:-
Provisions: a providing, preparing, or supplying of something, like food or clothing.

29:62

Allah enlarges the sustenance (which He gives) to whichever of His servants He pleases; and He (similarly) grants by (strict) measure, (as He pleases): for Allah has full knowledge of all things.
Meaning:-
Sustenance: food and drink regarded as a source of strength; nourishment.

29:65

If they happen to be aboard a ship ˹caught in a storm˺, they cry out to Allah ˹alone˺ in sincere devotion. But as soon as He brings them ˹safely˺ to land, they associate ˹others with Him once again˺.
Meaning:-
Devotion: loyalty, you feel loyal and loving toward someone, religious fervor: piety.

29:67

Have they not seen how We have made ˹Mecca˺ a safe haven, whereas people ˹all˺ around them are snatched away? How can they then believe in falsehood and deny Allah’s favours?
Meaning:-
Haven: a place of safety.
Falsehood: lie, untruth, fabrication, fairy tale.

32:4

It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days; then He established Himself above the Throne. You have not besides Him any protector or any intercessor; so will you not be reminded?
Meaning:-
Intercessor: a person who intervenes on behalf of another,

32:15

Only those people believe in Our verses, who, when they are reminded of them, prostrate themselves in adoration and celebrate the praises of their Lord and are not puffed up with pride.
Meaning:-
Prostrate: lying stretched out on the ground with one’s face downward, especially in reverence or submission.
Adoration: Worship, deep love and respect.

32:16

They arise from [their] beds; they supplicate their Lord in fear and aspiration, and from what We have provided them, they spend (charity in Allah’s Cause).
Meaning:-
Supplicate: ask or beg for something earnestly or humbly.
Aspiration: a hope or ambition of achieving something

32:20

But those who transgress shall be cast into the fire. Whenever they try to escape from it, they shall be pushed back into it, and it will be said to them: “Taste the punishment of the fire which you used to deny.”
Meaning:-
Transgress: violation of a law, command, etc.; sin.

31:6

But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, only to lead others away from Allah’s Way—without any knowledge—and to make a mockery of it. They will suffer a humiliating punishment.
Meaning:-
Mockery: making fun of, insulting or contemptuous action or speech.

31:10

He created the heavens without pillars—as you can see—and placed firm mountains upon the earth so it does not shake with you, and scattered throughout it all types of creatures. And We send down rain from the sky, causing every type of fine plant to grow on earth.

31:11

This is Allah’s creation; now, show Me what is there that others (gods) besides Him have created? – In fact the wrongdoers are in manifest error.
Meaning:-
Wrongdoer: a person who behaves illegally or dishonestly; an offender.
Manifest: clear or obvious to the eye or mind

31:14

We have enjoined man concerning his parents – his mother carries him in her womb while suffering weakness upon weakness and then weans him for two years – That’s why We commanded him: “Give thanks to Me and to your parents, and keep in mind that, to Me is your final goal.
Meaning:-
Womb: the uterus, a place of origination and development.
Weans:to accustom (a child ) to food other than its mother’smilk; cause to lose the need to suckle or turn to the mother for food.

31:15

If they argue with you to commit shirk (associate partner), of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them; however you should still treat them kindly in this world, but follow the way of that individual who has turned to Me. After all, to Me is your return; then I will inform you about the reality of all that you have done.”

31:16

Luqman further said: “O my son! Allah will bring all things to light, be they as small as a grain of a mustard seed, be they hidden inside a rock or high above in the heavens or deep down in the earth. Allah is well aware of all things to their finest details.

31:17

O my son! keep up prayer and enjoin the good and forbid the evil, and bear patiently that which befalls you; surely these acts require courage;
Meaning:-
Enjoin: instruct or urge (someone) to do something.
Befalls: urge strongly; command, (of something bad) happen to someone.

31:18

Do not speak to the people with your face turned away, nor walk proudly on earth; for Allah does not love any self-conceited boaster.
Meaning:-
Conceited: excessively proud of oneself; vain.
Boast: talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about one’s achievements, possessions, or abilities, brag.

31:19

“And be moderate (or show no insolence) in your walking, and lower your voice. Indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys.”
Meaning:-
Moderate: average in amount, intensity, quality, or degree.
Insolence: rude and disrespectful behavior.

31:20

Do you not see that Allah has subjected to your benefit all that is in the heavens and in the earth, and has lavished on you His evident and hidden favors? Yet there are some people who still argue about Allah without knowledge, without guidance or an enlightening Book.

31:21

When it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has revealed,” they reply, “No! We ˹only˺ follow what we found our forefathers practicing.” ˹Would they still do so˺ even if Satan is inviting them to the punishment of the blazing fire?
Meaning:-
Blaze: burn fiercely or burning very brightly.

31:22

Whoever fully submits themselves to Allah and is a good-doer, they have certainly grasped the firmest hand-hold. And with Allah rests the outcome of ˹all˺ affairs.
Meaning:-
Doer: a person who acts rather than merely talking or thinking.

31:23

But whoever disbelieves, do not let their disbelief grieve you ˹O Prophet˺. To Us is their return, and We will inform them of all they did. Surely Allah knows best what is ˹hidden˺ in the heart.
Meaning:-
Grieve: to cause to suffer, mental or emotional suffering.

31:29

Do you not see that Allah causes the night to pass into the day and the day into the night, that He has subjected the sun and the moon to follow His law, each pursuing its course for an appointed term, and that Allah is well aware of all your actions?

31:32

When any giant wave covers them like a canopy, they pray to Allah with all devotion making their faith pure for Him. But when He delivers them safely to land, some of them falter between belief and unbelief. None reject Our revelations except the treacherous and the ungrateful.
Meaning:-
Falter: speak in a hesitant or unsteady voice.

31:33

O mankind! guard against (the punishment of) your Lord and dread the day when a father shall not make any satisfaction for his son, nor shall the child be the maker of any satisfaction for his father; surely the promise of Allah is true, therefore let not this world’s life deceive you, nor let the archdeceiver deceive you in respect of Allah.
Meaning:-
Archdeceiver: One who composes schemes to mislead people-

31:34

Surely Allah Alone has the knowledge of the Hour, He is the One Who sends down the rain and He knows what is in the wombs. No one knows what he will earn the next day; and no one knows in what land he will die. Surely, Allah knows all this and is aware of everything.
Meaning:-
Womb: the uterus, a place of origination and development.

30:2

The Romans have been defeated (by the Persians, in Syria – A.D. 615; the Prophet Muhammad’s sympathies were with the Romans who were Christians, while the pagan Arabs were on the side of the Persians who were idol worshippers)
Meaning:-
Pagan: who worships many gods or who worships nature and the Earth.

30:4

Within three to nine years. The decision of the matter, before and after (these events) is only with Allah, (before the defeat of Romans by the Persians, and after, i.e. the defeat of the Persians by the Romans). And on that Day, the believers (i.e. Muslims) will rejoice (at the victory given by Allah to the Romans against the Persians),
Meaning:-
Rejoice: feel or show great joy or delight.

30:5

for the victory of the Romans as well as their own victory against the pagans with the help of Allah. He helps whom He pleases and He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.
Meaning:-
Pagans: who worships many gods or who worships nature and the Earth.

30:8

Have they not considered in their own minds that Allah created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them for a just reason and for a specified time? But the truth is that many among mankind do not believe in the meeting with their Lord (the Day of Resurrection)!

30:9

Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those before them? They were stronger than these in power, and they dug the earth and built upon it more than these have built. Messengers of their own came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah’s Sovereignty). (Which they rejected, to their own destruction): It was not Allah Who wronged them, but they wronged their own souls.

30:10

Then the end of those who did evil was the worst [consequence] because they denied the signs of Allah and used to ridicule them.
Meaning:-
Ridicule: mockery, derision, laughter, make fun of.
Consequence: a result of a particular action or situation, often one that is bad or not convenient

30:13

There will be no intercessors for them from among their associate-gods ‘gods which they had set up besides Allah’, and they will ˹totally˺ deny their associate-gods.
Intercessors: intervenes on behalf of another, advocate, mediate, intermediate, arbitrate.

30:21

And of His signs, another one is that He created for you mates (wives) from among yourselves that you may find comfort with them, and He planted love and kindness in your hearts; surely there are signs in this for those who think about it.

30:24

And of His signs is the showing of lightning, in which there is fear as well as hope, and He sends down rainwater from the sky and with it gives life to the earth after its death; surely there are signs in this for those who use their common sense.

30:28

We give you an example from your own lives. Do you let your slaves be equal partners in the wealth which We have given you? So that you take care of them as you take care of your own selves. That is how We explain many of Our Messages to a people who make use of their common sense.

Brief Explanation the Ayat: The passage says that since humans would not allow those who are inferior to them to become their partners in wealth, how can they set up helpless partners with Allah in His kingdom?

30:30

Therefore, stand firm in your devotion to the upright faith – the nature made by Allah, the one on which mankind is created – and the laws of Nature ordained by Allah cannot be changed. That is the standard of true faith, but most among mankind do not know.
Meaning:-
Devotion: religious worship or observance.

30:31

˹O believers!˺ Always turn to Him ˹in repentance˺, be mindful of Him, and establish prayers. And do not be polytheists
Meaning:-
Repentance: Repentance is the activity of reviewing one’s actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to change for the better.
Mindful: conscious or aware of something.
Polytheists: the doctrine of or belief in more than one god or in many gods

30:33

When people are touched with hardship, they cry out to their Lord, turning to Him ˹alone˺. But as soon as He gives them a taste of His mercy, a group of them associates ˹others˺ with their Lord ˹in worship˺,
Meaning:-
Hardship: a condition that causes difficulty or suffering, unpleasantness,adversity, difficult situation.
Associates: to join as a partner, companion, Joined with another or others and having equal or nearly equal status.

30:35

Have We sent down to them an authority, that speaks of the shirk which they are committing?
Meaning:-
Shirk:The term shirk in Islam is used to refer to idolatry or polytheism, which means deification, or worship of deity, gods, or anything other than Allāh.

30:36

When We give mankind a taste of blessing, they rejoice, but when some evil afflicts them because of their own misdeeds, they instantly fall into despair.
Meaning:-
Rejoice: feel or show great joy or delight.
Afflicts:(of a problem or illness) cause pain or suffering to; affect or trouble.
Despair: the complete loss or absence of hope.

30:37

Do they not see that it is Allah Who gives abundantly to whom He pleases and sparingly to whom He wills? Surely there are signs in this example for those who believe.
Meaning:-
Abundantly: in large quantities; plentifully.
Sparingly: in a restricted or infrequent manner; in small quantities.

30:39

That usury which you give to increase the wealth of people, does not increase with Allah: but the Zakah (charity) that you give to seek the pleasure of Allah, shall be repaid to you many times over.
Meaning:-
Usury: interest at unreasonably high rates.

30:40

It is Allah Who created you, then gives you provisions, then will cause you to die, and then will bring you back to life. Can any of your associate-gods do any of this? Glorified and Exalted is He above what they associate with Him ˹in worship˺!

provisions: a providing something someone needs, like food or clothing.

30:43

So direct your face toward the correct religion before a Day comes from Allah of which there is no repelling. That Day, they will be divided [(in groups), a group in Paradise and a group in Hell]..

repelling: to drive or force back

30:47

We sent before you messengers to their respective people, and they brought them clear signs. Some rejected them while others believed, then We subjected the guilty ones to Our retribution and We aided the believers – it is due on Us to help the Believers.

30:48

It is Allah Who sends the winds to raise the clouds, then He spreads them in the sky and breaks them into fragments as He pleases, then you see raindrops falling from their midst. When He showers this rain upon those of His servants whom He pleases, lo! They are filled with joy,

30:54

It is Allah Who has created you in a state of helplessness as a baby, then gave you strength to come out of helplessness in youth, then after strength again helplessness and grey hair in old age. He creates whatever He wills and it is He Who is the All-knowing, the Almighty.

30:55

And on the Day that the Hour will be established, the Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) will swear that they stayed not but an hour, thus were they ever deluded [away from the truth (i.e they used to tell lies and take false oaths, and turn away from the truth) in this life of the world)]..
Meaning:-
Deluded: mislead, deceive, fool, take in, trick.

4:176

They ask you for a legal decision relating to inheritance in the case of a childless person. Say: Allah gives you His decision about those who leave no descendants or ascendants as heirs. If a man dies childless and leaves behind a sister, she shall inherit one-half of his estate. If a woman dies childless, her brother will inherit all of her estate. If the childless person leaves behind two sisters, they both shall inherit two-third of his estate; but if he leaves more than two brothers and sisters, the share of each male shall be equal to that of two females. Thus Allah makes His commandments clear to you lest you go astray. Allah has perfect knowledge of everything.
Astray: into error, away from the correct path or direction

3:04

Before, as guidance for the people. And He revealed the Qur’an. Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah will have a severe punishment, and Allah is exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution.
Meaning:-
Retribution:- punishment, penalty

3:07

He is the One Who has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book (this Quran), of which some verses are precise—they are the foundation of the Book—while others are elusive. Those whose hearts are infected with disbelief follow the elusive verses seeking ˹to spread˺ doubt through their ˹false˺ interpretations—but none grasps their ˹full˺ meaning except Allah. As for those well-grounded in knowledge, they say, “We believe in this ˹Quran˺—it is all from our Lord.” But none will take heed except the people of understanding.
Meaning:-
precise: Precise means strictly correct or very exact.
Elusive: difficult to find, catch, or achieve
Heed: pay attention to; take notice of.

3:08

They say: “Our Lord, Do not cause our hearts to deviate now after you have guided us. Grant us Your own mercy; You are the Grantor of bounties without measure.
Meaning:-
Deviate: to turn aside, as from a route, way, course, etc…..to depart or swerve, as from a procedure, course of action, or acceptable norm.…..to digress, as from a line of thought or reasoning.
Bounties: a premium or reward

3:11

Their end will be the same as that of the people of Fir’on (Pharaoh) and their predecessors who denied Our signs, so Allah called them to account for their sins. Allah is strict in retribution.
Meaning:-
Retribution: requital according to merits or deserts, especially for evil
