nor be given permission to offer their excuses.

76:11
Therefore Allah win guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness;
76:12
And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient.
76:13

76:23
Indeed, It is We Who have sent down the Quran to you (O Muhammad) by stages.
76:24
So be patient (O Muhammad) for the decision of your Lord and do not obey from among them a sinner or ungrateful [disbeliever].
76:25
And remember the Name of your Lord every morning and afternoon [i.e. offering of the Morning (Fajr), Zuhr, and ‘Asr prayers].
76:26
And during night, prostrate yourself to Him (i.e. the offering of Maghrib and ‘Isha’ prayers), and glorify Him a long night through (i.e. Tahajjud prayer).

76:28
It is We Who created them, and We have made them of strong built. And when We will, We can replace them with others like them with a complete replacement.
76:29
Indeed, this (Verses of the Quran) is a reminder, so he who wills may take to his Lord a way.
76:30
But you cannot will, unless Allah wills. Verily, Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.

I swear by the Day of Resurrection
75:2
Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true).
75:3
Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not be able to put his bones together?
75:4
Why not? We are able to put together, in perfect order, the very tips of his fingers.
75:5
But man wishes to keep on doing evil in the future as well.
75:6
He questions: “When will this Day of Resurrection be?”
75:7
Well, it will come when the sight shall be dazed,
Meaning:-
Dazed: very confused and unable to think clearly
75:8

75:11
By no means! No place of safety!
75:12
On that Day, the refuge will only be towards your Lord.
75:13
On that Day man shall be told about all his deeds, from the first to the last.
75:14
Indeed, man shall bear witness against himself,
75:15
Even if he presents his excuses.
75:16
Do not rush your tongue trying to memorize ˹a revelation of˺ the Quran.
75:17
It is certainly upon Us to ˹make you˺ memorize and recite it ‘the Quran’.
75:18
So once We have recited a revelation ˹through Gabriel˺, follow its recitation ˹closely˺.
75:19
Then it is surely upon Us to make it clear ˹to you˺.
75:20
Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world,
75:21
And leave (neglect) the Hereafter.
75:22
On that Day, some faces shall be bright,
75:23
looking towards their Lord.
75:24
And on that Day some faces shall be gloomy,
Meaning:-
Gloomy: dark or poorly lit, especially so as to appear depressing or frightening.
75:25
Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them;

and those around him cry: “Is there any enchanter to help?”

and ˹then˺ their feet are tied together ˹in a shroud˺.
Meaning:-
Shroud: a length of cloth or an enveloping garment in which a dead person is wrapped for burial.
75:30
that will be the Day of driving towards your Lord.
75:31
So he (the disbeliever) neither believed (in this Quran, in the Message of Muhammad) nor prayed!
75:32
But on the contrary, he denied the truth (this Quran and the Message of Muhammad) and turned away!
75:33
Then he walked in full pride to his family admiring himself!
75:34
(It is) more appropriate to you, then more appropriate! (i.e., punishment).
75:35
Thereafter (it is) more appropriate for you, then more appropriate!
75:36
Does man think that he will be left to wander around without any purpose?
75:37
Was he not a spermdrop ejaculated?
75:38
Then he was a clinging clot, and [ Allah ] created [his form] and proportioned [him]
75:39
and made him either of the two sexes, male and female.
75:40
Is not He (Allah Who does that), Able to give life to the dead?
74:1
O you (Muhammad) who covers himself [with a garment],
74:2
Stand up and warn.
74:3
Proclaim the greatness of your Lord,
74:4
purify your clothes,
74:5
keep yourself away from uncleanliness,
74:6
And show not favour, seeking wordly gain,
74:7
and be patient for the sake of your Lord.
74:8
When the Trumpet will be sounded i.e. its second blowing),
74:9
that Day will be a very difficult Day,
74:10
not easy for the disbelievers.
74:11
Leave Me and the one (Walid bin Mughirah, a staunch opponent of the Prophet) whom I created, alone.
74:12
And to whom I granted extensive wealth,
74:13
And children to be by his side,
74:14
and made his life smooth and comfortable.
74:15
Yet he hopes that I shall give him more.
74:16
By no means! Because he has stubbornly denied Our Ayat.
Meaning:-
Stubborn: A person always thinks he’s right.
74:17
Soon I shall make him suffer mounting calamities,
74:18
surely he pondered and devised a plot.

Devise: plan or invent by careful thought.
74:19
May he perish, how he plotted!
Meaning:-

74:21
He looked around,
74:22
Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way,
Meaning:-
Frowned: make a face, give someone a black look;
74:23
Then turned he away in pride
74:24
And said, “This is not but magic imitated [from others],
74:25
this is nothing but the word of a human being.”
74:26
I will cast him into Hell-fire
74:27
And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is?
74:28
It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned],
74:29
Blackening the skins.
74:30
Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell).
74:31
And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: “What Allah intends by this (curious) example ?” Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind.
Meaning:-
Hypocrisy: a situation in which someone pretends to believe something that they do not really
Astray: into error, away from the correct path or direction
74:32
No! By the moon
74:33
And [by] the night when it departs
74:34
And [by] the morning when it brightens,
74:35
Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities.
74:36
A warning to mankind,
74:37
To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins),
Meaning:-
Righteous: (of a person or conduct) morally right or justifiable; virtuous, very good; excellent.
74:38
Every soul is held in pledge for its deeds,
Meaning:-
Pledge: undertaking, guarantee, promise.
74:39
except the people of the right hand,
74:40
who shall be in paradise. They will ask
74:41
About the criminals,
74:42
“What brought you into hell?”.
74:43
They will say: “We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers)
74:44
Nor did we used to feed the poor.
74:45
we used to join those who wasted their time in talk
Meaning:-
Vain: useless, pointless, to no purpose, hopeless.
74:46
And we used to deny the Day of Judgment,
74:47
until death overtook us.”

So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.
Meaning:-
Intercession: the action of intervening on behalf of another.
Intercessors: a person who intervenes on behalf of another, especially by prayer.
74:49
Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away
74:50
Like frightened donkeys
74:51
fleeing from a lion.
Meaning:-
Flee: run away from a place or situation of danger.
74:52
Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.).
74:53
But no! The fact is that they do not fear the Hereafter.
74:54
No! Indeed, the Qur’an is a reminder
74:55
Let any who will, keep it in remembrance!
74:56
But none takes heed except by the will of Allah. He Alone is worthy to be feared and He Alone is worthy to forgive those who fear Him.
Meaning:-
Heed: pay attention to; take notice of.
73:1
O Muzzammil (folded in garments – one of the nick names of the Prophet Muhammad)!
73:2
Stand in prayers at night, but not the whole night,
73:3
Half of it, or a little less than that,
73:4
Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style.
73:5
Soon We are going to send you a weighty message.
73:6
Surely the getting up at night for prayer is most effective for controlling the self and most suitable for reciting the Qur’an as well;
73:7
because, during the day you are hard pressed with worldly affairs.
73:8
And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.
Meaning:-
Devote: to apply or dedicate (oneself, time, etc) to some pursuit.

73:10
Bear patiently (O Muhammad) with what they say and leave their company in a polite manner.
73:11
Let me deal with rejecters who are enjoying the comforts of this life, so put up with them for a while.
73:12
Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire
Meaning:-
Shackle: put in chains, clap in irons, handcuff.
73:13
And food that chokes and a painful punishment –
73:14
On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out and flowing down.
Meaning:-
Heap: a great number or large quantity.
73:15
O mankind, We have sent towards you a Messenger (Muhammad), to bear witness for you or against you, as We sent a Messenger [Musa (Moses)] towards Fir’on (Pharaoh) before you.
73:16
But Fir’aun (Pharaoh) disobeyed the Messenger [Musa (Moses)], so We seized him with a severe punishment.
73:17
If you persist in unbelief, how will you save yourselves on that Day which shall turn the children grey-headed (old),
Meaning:-
Persist: continue firmly, carry on, keep on, remain.
73:18
The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled.
73:19
Surely this is but a reminder, so let him who wills, take the Right way to His Lord.
73:20
Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur’an. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah . So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and give to Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves – you will find it with Allah . It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah . Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Meaning:-
Bounty: generosity; liberality, a monetary gift or reward.
72:1
Say (O Muhammad): “It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: ‘Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)!
72:2
‘It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah).
72:3
Surely our Lord’s Majesty is exalted: He has neither taken a wife nor a son.
72:4
‘And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblis (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinns] used to utter against Allah that which was wrong and not right.
Meaning:-
Polytheist: belief in more than one god or in many gods.
72:5
And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie.
72:6
‘And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief.
Meaning:-
Masculine: pertaining to or characteristic of a man or men:
72:7
‘And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns).
72:8
And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur’an said) we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames.
72:9
And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him:
72:10
‘And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path.
72:11

72:13
‘And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Quran), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in punishment for his sins.
Meaning:-
Monotheism: the doctrine or belief that there is only one God.
72:14
‘And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)’. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path.”
72:15
and those who have deviated from the truth will become the fuel for hell.”
72:16
If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allah, and went on the Right Way (i.e. Islam) We should surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance.
Meaning:-
Bestow: an honor, right, or gift
Abundance: an extremely plentiful or oversufficient quantity
72:17
That We might try them thereby. And whosoever turns away from the Reminder of his Lord (i.e. this Quran, and practice not its laws and orders), He will cause him to enter in a severe punishment (i.e. Hell).
72:18
And the places (Mosques) of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah.
72:19
(It has been revealed to me that) When the slave of Allah (Muhammad) stood up invoking (his Lord Allah) in prayer to Him they (the jinns) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet’s recitation).
Meaning:-
invoke: appeal to, pray to, call on.
72:20
O Prophet (O Muhammad), say: “I pray only to my Lord and worship none besides Him.”
72:21
Say: “I have no control to cause harm or bring you to the Right Way.”
72:22
Say (O Muhammad): “None can protect me from Allah’s punishment (if I were to disobey Him), nor should I find refuge except in Him.
Meaning:-
Refuge: shelter, protection, safety.
72:23
My mission is only to deliver what I receive from Allah and make His messages known. As for those who disobey Allah and His Messenger, they shall be put in the fire of hell to live therein forever.”
72:24
When they shall see the punishment that they are being threatened with, then they shall find out whose helpers are weak and whose supporters are fewer in number.
72:25
Say (O Muhammad): “I know not whether (the punishment) which you are promised is near or whether my Lord will appoint for it a distant term.
72:26
[He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone
72:27
Except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen (He informs him of unseen as much as He likes), and then He makes a band of watching guards (angels) to march before him and behind him.
72:28
[He (Allah) protects them (the Messengers)], till He sees that they (the Messengers) have conveyed the Messages of their Lord (Allah). And He (Allah) surrounds all that which is with them, and He (Allah) keeps count of all things (i.e. He knows the exact number of everything).
71:1
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], “Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment.”
71:2
He said: “O my People! I am sent towards you as a plain Warner.
71:3
[Saying], ‘Worship Allah , fear Him and obey me.
71:4
He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know!
71:5
He said, “My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day.
71:6
But my call has only made them flee the more:
71:7
And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their clothes, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance.

71:10
“I said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving;
71:11
He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers
71:12
And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.
71:13
What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness).
71:14
While He has created you in stages?
71:15
Can you not see how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other,
71:16
And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp?
71:17
Allah has caused you to grow as a growth from the earth.

71:22
“And they have plotted a mighty plot.
71:23
and said to each other: ‘Do not leave your gods; especially Wadd, Suwa, Yaghus, Yauq and Nasr (the names of their idols).’

69:8
Now, do you see any of them alive?
69:9
And Fir’aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin,
