19:97

Indeed, We have made this ˹Quran˺ easy in your own language ˹O Muhammad˺ so with it you may give good news to the righteous and warn those who are contentious.
Meaning:-
Contentious: causing , involving, or likely to cause disagreement and argument, controversial.

20:10

When he saw a fire, he said to his family: “Stop: I saw a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a torch from it, or find someone beside the fire to guide us towards the right direction.”
Meaning:-
Torch: a burning stick of resinous wood or twist of tow used to give light and usually carried in the hand : flambeau.

20:16

Therefore, let not any, who does not believe in this fact (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.) and follow his own desires, turn your away, lest you are ruined.
Meaning:-
Ruined: to damage irreparably, destroyed, collapse.

20:24

“Go to Fir’aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience, and has behaved as an arrogant, and as a tyrant).”
Meaning:-
Transgress: to violate a law, command, moral code, etc.; offend; sin.
tyrant:a cruel and oppressive ruler, dictator.

20:39

‘Put him into a chest, then put it into the river. The river will wash it ashore, and he will be taken by ˹Pharaoh,˺ an enemy of Mine and his.’ And I blessed you with lovability from Me ˹O Moses˺ so that you would be brought up under My ˹watchful˺ Eye.
Meaning:-
Chest: strong box, usually made of wood.

20:40

˹Remember˺ when your sister came along and proposed, ‘Shall I direct you to someone who will nurse him?’ 1 So We reunited you with your mother so that her heart would be put at ease, and she would not grieve. ˹Later˺ you killed a man ˹by mistake˺, but We saved you from sorrow, as well as other tests We put you through. Then you stayed for a number of years among the people of Midian. Then you came here as pre-destined, O Moses!
Meaning:-
Grieve:mourn, sorrow, distress, pain, hurt.
pre-destined: the belief that everything that will happen has already been decided by God and cannot be changed

20:42

Go forth, you and your brother, with My signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance.
Meaning:-
Slacken: become slower or less active; become looser, or make something looser.

20:47

So go to him and say, Indeed we are both messengers from your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the ˹right˺ guidance.
Meaning:-
Torment: torture, pain, suffering, make someone suffer severe pain.

20:53

Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. ” With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others.

20:54

Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence.
Meaning:-
Pasture: land covered with grass and other low plants suitable for grazing animals, especially cattle or sheep.

20:61

Moses said to the magicians summoned by Fir’on (Pharaoh), “Woe to you! Do not invent a lie against Allah, or He will wipe you out with a torment. Whoever invents ˹lies˺ is bound to fail.”
Meaning:-
summon: call people to attend, order a gathering of; call together by authority.
Woe: a condition of deep suffering from misfortune, affliction, or grief, ruinous trouble : calamity.
Torment: to afflict with great pain, suffering, torture.

20:63

Finally they said: “These two (Musa and Haroon) are certainly expert magicians who intend to drive you out from your land with their magic and to do away with your best traditions.

20:66

Musa replied: “Go ahead, throw down first”. And suddenly their ropes and staffs seemed to him from their magic that they were moving [like snakes].
Meaning:-
staff: A stick or cane.

20:69

Throw that which is in your right hand. It will swallow up every thing they have produced. What they have produced is nothing but a magician’s trick, and a magician can never succeed against a miracle no matter how skillful he may be.”

20:70

When the magicians saw the Serpent of Musa swallowing all their display, being professionals they knew that it was not magic, so the magicians humbled themselves by prostrating and said: “We believe in the Lord of Haroon and Musa.”
Meaning:-
Serpent: Snake.
Prostrating: lay oneself flat on the ground face downward, especially in reverence or submission.

20:71

[Fir’aun (Pharaoh)] said: “How do you dare to believe in Him [Musa (Moses)] without my permission? This man must be your master, who taught you magic. Well, I will cut off your hands and feet on alternate sides and crucify you on trunks of palm-trees, and you shall surely know which of us [I (Fir’aun – Pharaoh) or the Lord of Musa (Moses) (Allah)] can give the severe and more lasting punishment.”
Meaning:-
Crucify: to put to death by nailing or binding the wrists or hands and feet to a cross.

20:72

The magicians replied: “We can never prefer you, rather we prefer the miracle which we have witnessed and Him Who has created us. Therefore do whatever you will; you can only punish us in this worldly life.

20:73

Indeed, we have believed in our Lord so He may forgive our sins and that magic you have forced us to practice. And Allah is far superior ˹in reward˺ and more lasting ˹in punishment˺.”

20:77:

We revealed to Moses, ˹saying,˺ “Travel by night with My servants and strike for them a dry path through the sea; you will not fear being overtaken [by Fir’on] nor be afraid [of drowning].”

20:78

Fir’on followed them with his armies but the waters completely overwhelmed them as it could overwhelm them.
Meaning:-
overwhelm:to overpower or overcome, especially with superior forces; destroy; crush:

20:80

O Children of Israel! We delivered you from your enemy, We fixed a time to grant you The Taurat on the right side of Mount Tur and We sent down to you Manna (sweet dish) and Salva (quail meat)

20:81

– saying: “Eat of the good things We have provided for your sustenance and do not transgress, lest you should incur My wrath, and whoever incurs My wrath is surely bound to perish,
Meaning:-
Transgress: to violate a law, command, moral code, etc.; offend; sin.
Incur: become subject to (something unwelcome or unpleasant) as a result of one’s own behavior or actions
Perish: to suffer destruction or ruin:, disappear

20:82

And verily, I am indeed Forgiving to him who repents, believes (in My Oneness, and associates none in worship with Me) and does righteous good deeds, and then remains constant in doing them, (till his death).

20:85

Allah said, “We have indeed tested your people in your absence, and the Sâmiri has led them astray.”
Meaning:-
Astray: into error, away from the correct path or direction
Sâmiri: The Samiri, or the man from Samaria, was a hypocrite who led the children of Israel into idol-worship.

20:86

Then Musa (Moses) returned to his people in a state of anger and sorrow. He said: “O my people! Did not your Lord promise you a fair promise? Did then the promise seem to you long in coming? Or did you desire that wrath should descend from your Lord on you, so you broke your promise to me (i.e disbelieving in Allah and worshipping the calf)?”
Meaning:-
wrath:extreme anger

20:87

They said, “We did not break our promise to you by our will, but we were made to carry burdens from the ornaments (golden jewellery) of the people [of Fir’on], so we threw them [into the fire], and the Samiri did the same,’
Meaning:-
Samiri: The Samiri, or the man from Samaria, was a hypocrite who led the children of Israel into idol-worship.

20:88

Then he moulded for them an idol of a calf that made a mooing sound. They said, “This is your god and the god of Moses, but Musa forgot to mention it to you.”
Meaning:-
Moulded: to make a soft substance have a particular shape.
calf: a young cow.
Mooing: deep sound that a cow makes.

20:90

And Aaron had already told them before [the return of Moses], “O my people, you are only being tested by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my order.”

20:94

Haroon replied: “O son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard nor pull the hair of my head, in fact I was afraid lest you might say: `You have caused a division, through civil war, among the Children of Israel and did not respect to what I said, ‘to keep peace’.”

20:95

[Musa (Moses)] said: “And what is the matter with you. O Samiri? (i.e. why did you do so?)”
Meaning:-
Samiri: The Samiri, or the man from Samaria, was a hypocrite who led the children of Israel into idol-worship.

20:96

He replied: “I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful of dust from the footprint of the messenger (Angel Gabriel) and threw it into the casting of the moulded calf: thus did my soul suggest to me.”
Meaning:-
Moulded: to make a soft substance have a particular shape.
Calf: a young cow.

20:97

Musa (Moses) said, “Go away then! And for ˹the rest of your˺ life you will surely be crying, ‘Do not touch ˹me˺!’ Then you will certainly have a fate that you cannot escape. Now look at your god to which you have been devoted: we will burn it up, then scatter it in the sea completely.”
Meaning:-
Fate: something that unavoidably befalls a person; fortune.
devoted: extremely loving and loyal, steadfast in giving love or attention

20:98

˹Then Moses addressed his people,˺ “Your only god is Allah, there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. He encompasses everything in ˹His˺ knowledge.”
Meaning:-
Encompasses: surround and have or hold within.

20:101

They will abide in that (state in the Fire of Hell), and it will be indeed a very evil burden to bear on the Day of Resurrection.
Meaning:-
Abide: to stay with or remain, to continue in a place.

20:105

And they ask you about the mountains, Tell them: “My Lord will crush and scatter them like a fine dust.
Meaning:-
scatter: particles, to divide into ineffectual small portions.

20:108

On that Day mankind will follow strictly (the voice of) Allah’s caller, no crookedness (that is without going to the right or left of that voice) will they show him (Allah’s caller). And all voices will be humbled for the Most Beneficent (Allah), and nothing shall you hear but the low voice of their footsteps.
Meaning:-
Crooked: bent or twisted out of shape or out of place.

20:109

That Day, no intercession will benefit except [that of] one to whom the Most Merciful has given permission and has accepted his word.
Meaning:-
Intercession: the action of intervening on behalf of another.

20:110

He (Allah) knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them (in the Hereafter), but they cannot grasp it with their knowledge.
Meaning:-
grasp: to get hold of mentally; comprehend; understand.

20:111

And all faces will be humbled before (Allah) the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. And those burdened with wrongdoing will be in loss (on that Day).
Meaning:-
Sustain: to give support or relief to, to supply with sustenance : nourish (To provide with food).

20:113

Thus have We sent this down – an arabic Qur’an – and explained therein in detail some of the warnings, in order that they may fear Allah, or that it may cause their remembrance (of Him).

20:114

So high [above all] is Allah, the True King. And do not show haste (O Muhammad) with the Qur’an before it has been revealed to you in full, but say: “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
Meaning:-
Haste: Rush, Speed, Urgency of movement or action; hurry.

20:116

When We said to the angels “Prostrate yourselves before Adam”, they all prostrated themselves except Iblees (Shaitan),: who refused.
Meaning:-
Prostrate: lying stretched out on the ground with one’s face downward, especially in reverence or submission.

20:121

They both end up eating the fruit of the forbidden tree. As a result they became conscious of their nakedness and began to cover themselves with leaves from the Paradise (garden). So Adam disobeyed his Lord, and ˹so˺ lost his way.
Meaning:-
Forbidden: not permitted, not allowed; banned.
Nakedness: without clothing, nudity; bareness.

20:123

saying: “Get down from here all of you (Adam, Eve and Iblees); you will remain enemies to one another, whenever there comes to you guidance from Me and whosoever will follow My guidance will neither go astray nor get into trouble;
Meaning:-
Astray: into error, away from the correct path or direction

20:124

But whoever turns away from My Reminder will certainly have a miserable life, then We will raise them up blind on the Day of Judgment.”
Meaning:-
Miserable: extremely unhappy, uneasy, or uncomfortable, very sad, ill, or poor.

20:127

This is how We reward whoever transgresses and does not believe in the revelations of their Lord. And the punishment of the Hereafter is far more severe and more lasting.
Meaning:-
Transgress: violation of a law, misbehave, wrongdoing, misdeed, sin.
Lasting: Continuing or remaining for a long time.

20:128

Then, has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them as they walk among their dwellings? There truly are signs in this for anyone with understanding!
Meaning:-
Dwellings: a place where people live, other place of residence.

20:130

So bear patiently (O Muhammad) what they say, and glorify the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun, and before its setting, and during some of the hours of the night, and at the sides of the day (an indication for the five compulsory congregational prayers), that you may become pleased with the reward which Allah shall give you.

20:131

Do not let your eyes crave what We have allowed some of the disbelievers to enjoy; the ˹fleeting˺ splendour of this worldly life, which We test them with. But your Lord’s provision ˹in the Hereafter˺ is far better and more lasting.
Meaning:-
Crave: to have a great desire for it, want greatly; desire eagerly.
Fleeting: vanishing quickly, lasting for a very short time, short or quick.
Splendour: magnificence, luxury, spectacle, richness.
Lasting: existing or continuing a long while, continuing or enduring a long time; permanent.

20:132

And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness.
Meaning:-
Enjoin: you order them to do it, to urge or impose with authority; order; enforce.
Steadfast: firm in belief, determination, firm and staying strong.
Provision: the meeting of needs, the providing or supplying of something, especially of food or other necessities.
Righteousness: quality of being virtuous, honorable, or morally right.

20:133

They say: “Why does he (Muhammad) not bring us a Sign from His Lord?” Has not a clear Sign (The Qur’an) come to them containing all the teachings of the former Scriptures [Scriptures, i.e. the Taurat (Torah), and the Injeel (Gospel), etc. about the coming of the Prophet Muhammad].?

20:134

And if We had destroyed them with a punishment before him (i.e. Messenger Muhammad and the Quran), they would surely have said, “Our Lord, why did You not send to us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses before we were humiliated and disgraced?”
Meaning:-
Humiliated: feel ashamed or embarrassed.
Disgraced: Loss of honor, respect, or reputation; shame.

20:135

Tell them, (O Muhammad): “Everyone is waiting for his end. Wait, then, [for the Day of Judgment – ] for then you will come to know as to who has followed the even path, and who has found guidance!”

21:1

The Day of Accountability for mankind is getting closer and closer, yet they are heedless and are turning away from the admonition.
Meaning:-
Heedless: not paying attention to advice; not realizing situation may be dangerous, careless; thoughtless; unmindful
Admonition: a warning, counsel, advice, or caution.

21:2

They listen with ridicule to each fresh warning that comes to them from their Lord and remain engaged in the sports.
Meaning:-
Ridicule: speech or action intended to cause contemptuous laughter at a personor thing; derision, make fun of.
Sports: pleasant pastime, jest; fun; mirth; pleasantry:

21:3

Their hearts are preoccupied with worldly affairs; these wrongdoers say to each other in private: “Is this man (Muhammad) not a human being like yourselves? How can you follow that which you know is only a magic?”
Meaning:-
Wrongdoer: a person who does wrong, especially a sinner or transgressor, dishonestly; an offender.

21:5

Yet they say, “This ˹Quran˺ is a set of confused dreams! No, he has invented it! No, he must be a poet! So let him bring us a ˹tangible˺ sign like those ˹prophets˺ sent before [with miracles].”
Meaning:-
Tangible: easily seen or recognized, able to be touched or felt.

21:6

The fact, however, is that even though We showed Signs to the prior people, not a single nation before them, which We destroyed, ever believed. Will they believe?
Meaning:-
Prior: previous, former, earlier, coming before in time.

21:7

We did not send ˹messengers˺ before you ˹O Muhammad˺ except men to whom We revealed [the message]. If you ˹polytheists˺ do not know ˹this already˺, then ask those who have knowledge ˹of the Scriptures˺.
Meaning:-
Polytheists: belief in or worship of more than one god, belief in many different gods.

21:9

Then We fulfilled Our promise with them: We saved them and those whom We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors.
Meaning:-
Transgress: to violate a law, command, moral code, etc.; offend; sin.

21:11

How many nations We have destroyed because of their iniquities and replaced them by other nations!
Meaning:-
Iniquity: a violation of right or duty; wicked act; sin, immoral or grossly unfair behavior.

21:14

They said, “O woe to us! Indeed, we were wrongdoers.”
Meaning:-
Wrongdoer: especially a sinner, or transgressor, criminal, dishonestly; an offender.
Woe: Grievous distress, affliction, trouble, misfortune, affliction, grief, Great sorrow.

21:15

They kept repeating their cry until We mowed them down, ˹leaving them˺ lifeless.
Meaning:-
Mowed: To destroy in great numbers as if cutting down, as in battle. To overwhelm.
lifeless: not interesting or exciting or depressed.

21:17

If We had willed to find a pastime (without creating the heavens and the earth with all that is in and between them), We would indeed have found it in Our Presence, (but) we were by no means to do (such a thing).
Meaning:-
Ayat Explanation: Lit., “if We had [ever] willed to do so”: meaning that, had God ever willed to “indulge in a pastime” (which, being almighty and self-sufficient, He has no need to do), He could have found it within His Own Self, without any necessity to create a universe which would embody His hypothetical – and logically inconceivable – will to “please Himself”, and would thus represent a “projection”, as it were, of His Own Being. In the elliptic manner of the Qur’an, the above passage amounts to a statement of God’s transcendence.

21:18

In fact, We hurl the truth against falsehood, leaving it crushed, and it quickly vanishes. And woe be to you, for all the false gods you have invented.
Meaning:-
Hurl: to throw forcefully.
Falsehood: a lie, An untrue statement, an untrue idea, absence of truth or accuracy.
Vanishes: disappear, disappear suddenly and completely
woe: Grievous distress, affliction, trouble, misfortune, affliction, grief, Great sorrow.

21:21

What, have those polytheists (given up hope of heaven and) adopted deities from the earth, (do they believe) that they (those deities) can raise up the dead?
Meaning:-
Polytheists: The worship of or belief in more than one god, belief in many gods.
Deities: God; Supreme Being, like a god or goddess, Fake God.

21:22

If there were other gods in the heavens or in the earth besides Allah, both the heavens and earth would have been in a state of disorder. Glory be to Allah, the Lord of the Throne, absolutely free is He from the falsehood that they attribute to Him.
Meaning:-
Falsehood: a lie, An untrue statement, an untrue idea, absence of truth or accuracy.
Attribute: associate with, any of the essential qualifications of God.

21:24

Or have they taken other gods besides Him? Say, ˹O Muhammad,˺ “Produce your proof. This [Qur’an] is the message for those with me and the message ˹earlier Scriptures˺ of those before me.” But most of them do not know the truth, so they are turning away.

21:26

And they say: “The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or children).” Glory be to Him! In fact, those ˹angels˺ are only ˹His˺ honoured servants,
Meaning:-
Beget (Begotten is past participle of Beget): To produce (children) by sexual reproduction.

21:28

He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them. They do not intercede except for whom He approves, and they stand in awe for fear of Him.
Meaning:-
Intercede: Intervene on behalf of another.
Awe: A feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder.

21:29

Whoever of them were to say, “Indeed, I am a god besides Him,” they would be rewarded with Hell by Us. This is how We reward the wrongdoers.
Meaning:-
Wrongdoer: especially a sinner, or transgressor, criminal, dishonestly; an offender.

21:30

Have not the disbelievers ever considered that the skies and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We split them asunder? And We have created every living thing from water. Will they still not believe?
Meaning:-
Asunder: into forcefully separated pieces, apart; divided
This Ayat is the leading explanation: This probably refers to the event commonly known as the Big Bang.
Big Bang: This startling idea first appeared in scientific form in 1931. The Big Bang Theory is the leading explanation about how the universe began. Scientists believe, with every speck of its energy jammed into a very tiny point. This extremely dense point exploded with unimaginable force. At its simplest, it says the universe as we know it started with a small singularity, then inflated over the next 13.8 billion years to the cosmos that we know today.

21:32

And We have made the sky a well-protected canopy, still they turn away from its signs
Meaning
of the sky a well-protected canopy:-
Science Discovered recently that: If the atmosphere did not have an ozone layer, the harmful rays from the SUN would not be filtered and life in the world would disappear.
OUTER SPACE TEMPERATURE: Our atmosphere acts like a blanket, keeping warm temperatures in. Without the atmosphere, we’d temperature of outer space − 270.45 °C freeze world almost instantly.

21:33

He is the One Who has created the night and the day and the sun and the moon: all (the celestial bodies) move swiftly in an orbit of their own.
Meaning:-
Celestial: By definition a celestial body is any natural body outside of the Earth’s atmosphere. Easy examples are the Moon, Sun, and the other planets of our solar system.

Earth rotates: French physicist February 3, 1851 demonstrates that Earth rotates.
The change between day and night is caused by the rotation of the Earth on its axis
orbit: In 1515 the scientist proposed that the Earth was a planet like Venus or Saturn, and that all planets circled the Sun.

21:41

˹Other˺ messengers had already been ridiculed before you ˹O Prophet˺, but those who mocked them were overtaken by what they used to ridicule.
Meaning:-
Ridicule: make fun of. the act of making fun of someone or something in a cruel or harsh way
Mocked: to make fun of or mimic someone with contempt, to attack or treat with ridicule or derision

21:44

The fact is that We gave the good things of this life to them [disbelievers] and their forefathers until they got used to these things because of their prolonged lives; can they not see how We gradually reduce the land which was in their control and curtail it from all sides? Do they still expect to be victorious against Us?
Meaning:-
Curtail: reduce in extent or quantity; impose a restriction on.

21:46

If they were touched by even a breath of your Lord’s torment, they would certainly cry, “Woe to us! We have really been polytheists) wrongdoers.”
Meaning:-
Torment: torture, pain, severe physical or mental suffering, to afflict with great bodily.
Woe: great sorrow or distress. affliction, grievous distress, affliction, or trouble
Polytheism: the doctrine of or belief in more than one god or in many gods.
Wrongdoer: especially a sinner, or transgressor, criminal, dishonestly; an offender.

21:47

On the Day of Judgement We shall set up scales of justice so that no one will be dealt with unjustly in any way; even if someone has an act as small as a grain of a mustard seed, We will bring it to account, and sufficient are We to settle the accounts.

21:48

Indeed, We granted Moses and Aaron the standard ˹to distinguish between right and wrong˺—a light and a reminder for the righteous,
Meaning:-
Distinguish: to recognize or understand the difference between two things.

21:59

[When they saw what had happened,] they said: “Who has done this to our gods? Verily, one of the worst wrongdoers is he!”
Meaning:-
Wrongdoers:especially a sinner, or transgressor, criminal, dishonestly; an offender.

21:63

He replied ˹sarcastically˺, “No, this one—the biggest of them—did it! So ask them, if they can talk!”
Meaning:-
Sarcastically: in a way that uses remarks that clearly mean the opposite of what you say, in order to hurt someone’s feelings.

21:73

We made them leaders who guided other people by Our command and We sent them revelations to do good deeds, establish regular prayers and to practice regular charity; and they constantly served Us (and Us only).

21:74

And to Lut (Lot) We gave judgement and knowledge, and We saved him from the city that was committing wicked deeds. Indeed, they were a people of evil, defiantly disobedient.
Meaning:-
wicked: evil or morally wrong, sinful.

21:79

And We gave understanding of the case to Solomon, and to each [of them] We gave judgement and knowledge. And We caused the mountains and the birds to celebrate Our praises with Dawood; it was We Who made this happen.

21:81

We made the raging winds subservient to Sulaiman, pursuing its course by his command to the land which We had blessed; and We have knowledge of everything.
Meaning:-
Raging:tremendous, showing violent uncontrollable anger.
Subservient: prepared to obey others unquestioningly.

21:83

Similarly We blessed Ayub, when he prayed to his Lord saying, “I have been touched with adversity, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”
Meaning:-
Adversity: disaster; trouble, misery; adverse fortune or fate, Difficulties; misfortune.

21:84

So We answered his prayer and removed his adversity, and gave him back his family (that he had lost), twice as many, as a mercy from Us and a lesson for the ˹devoted˺ worshippers.
Meaning:-
Adversity: disaster; trouble, misery; adverse fortune or fate, Difficulties; misfortune.
Devoted: extremely loving and loyal.

21:87

And (also mention) Dhu’n-Nun (Jonah). He departed in anger (from his people, who persistently disbelieved and paid no attention to his warnings), and he was certain that We would never straiten (his life for) him. But eventually he called out in the veils of darkness (formed of the belly of the fish, the sea, and dark, rainy night): “There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except You. Glory be to You! I have certainly done wrong.”
Meaning:-
Persistently: continuously.
Veils: cover, conceal

21:90

We accepted his prayer and gave him Yahya (John), curing his wife for him to bear a child. They were ever quick in emulating good deeds and called on Us with hope, fear, and submission.
Meaning:-
Emulating: to strive to equal or excel.

21:91

And We blessed the woman (Maryam), who guarded her chastity, We breathed into her of Our Spirit and We made her and her son (Jesus) a sign for the whole world.
Meaning:-
Chastity purity in conduct, abstention from unlawful sexual intercourse.

21:96

Until the Gog and Magog (people) are let through (their barrier), and they swiftly swarm from every hill.
Meaning:-
Gog and Magog: The name stands for wild and lawless tribes who will break their barriers and swarm through the earth. This will be one of the prognostications of the approaching Judgment. (See 18:93-99)

21:97

And [when] the true promise has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], “O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers.”
Meaning:-
Woe: great sorrow or distress.
Wrongdoer: a person who behaves illegally or dishonestly; an offender.

21:103

The greatest terror (on the Day of Resurrection) will not grieve them, and the angels will meet them, (with the greeting): “This is your Day which you were promised.”
Meaning:-
Grieve: to feel grief or great sorrow.

21:105

And indeed We have written in Zabur (Psalms) [i.e. all the revealed Holy Books the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), the Quran] after (We have already written in) Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (the Book, that is in the heaven with Allah), that My righteous slaves shall inherit the land (i.e. the land of Paradise).
Meaning:-

Inherit: succeed to, take over, to receive qualities.

22:2

On the Day you see it, every nursing mother will abandon what she is nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated while they are not intoxicated; but the punishment of Allah is severe.
Meaning:-
Nursing: (of a mother) breastfeeding a baby.
Abandon: give up completely, cease to support, to forsake completely.
Abort: to induce the abortion of or give birth to prematurely, to terminate the pregnancy of before term.
Intoxicated: drunk.

22:4

It has been decreed for every devil that whoever turns to him – he will misguide him and will lead him to the punishment of the Blaze.
Meaning:-
Decreed: Fixed or established especially by order or command,
Blaze: a very large or fiercely burning fire.

22:5

O mankind! if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed – that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it begins to stir ˹to life˺ and swell, producing every type of pleasant plant.
Meaning:-
Resurrection: the rising of the dead on Judgment Day
Womb:- the uterus, a place of origination and development.
Decrepit: weakened by old age
Barren: not producing or incapable of producing offspring

22:9

twisting things around in order to lead others astray from the Path of Allah – for such persons there is disgrace in this life, and on the Day of Judgment we shall make them taste the punishment of burning fire,

22:11

There are some people who worship Allah standing on the verge of faith (half faith and half disbelief). When such a person is blessed with good fortune he is content; but if they are afflicted with a trial, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts back to disbelief). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is ˹truly˺ the clearest loss.
Meaning:-
Verge: an edge or border.
Content: in a state of peaceful happiness.
Afflicted: to cause suffering, pain, illness, disaster, trouble greatly or grievously

22:12

Then instead of Allah, he starts calling those deities who can neither harm nor help him. That is what is the extreme error.
Meaning:-
Deities: Fake Gods, God; Supreme Being, like a god or goddess.

22:13

They invoke those whose worship leads to harm, not benefit. What an evil master and what an evil friend he chooses for help!
Meaning:-
Invoke: to call on (a deity), as in prayer. {Deity: Fake God, God; Supreme Being, like a god or goddess.}

22:15

Whoever thinks that Allah will not help His Prophet in this world and the Hereafter – let him extend a rope to the ceiling, then cut off [his breath], and let him see: will his effort remove that which enrages [him]?
Meaning:-
Enrage: to make extremely angry

22:17

Those who believe (in the Qur’an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for Allah is witness of all things.

22:18

Do you not see that to Allah bow down ˹in submission˺ all those in the heavens and all those on the earth, as well as the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the animals (creatures), and ˹all˺ living beings, as well as many humans, while many are deserving of punishment. And whoever Allah disgraces, none can honour. Surely Allah does what He wills.

22:19

These are two opposing groups (the believers and disbelievers) that disagree about their Lord: as for the disbelievers, garments of Fire will be cut out for them and boiling water will be poured over their heads,

22:21

In addition there will be maces of iron to lash (to punish) them.
Meaning:-
Maces: spiked metal head. A heavy medieval war club with a spiked.
lash: strike (someone) with a whip or stick, whip, flog, flagellate, beat

22:22

Every time they want to get out of Hellfire from anguish, they will be returned to it, and [it will be said], “Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire!”
Meaning:-
Anguish: severe mental or physical pain or suffering.

22:23

As for those who have faith and do good deeds, Allah will certainly admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow. They shall be decked with pearls and bracelets of gold, and their garments will be of silk.
Meaning:-
Deck: decorate or adorn brightly or festively.

22:25

Indeed, those who have disbelieved and avert [people] from the way of Allah and [from] al-Masjid al-Haram, to which We have assigned all mankind with equal rights whether they are natives or foreigners, and whoever intend to deviate from righteousness to wrongdoing in its vicinity, We will make him taste a painful punishment
Meaning:-
Avert: turn away or aside.
Deviate: going aside from a path, especially in a way that causes problems for others.

22:26

And [mention, O Muhammad], when We designated for Abraham the place of the House, [saying], “Do not associate anything with Me and purify My House for those who perform Tawaf and those who stand [in prayer] and those who bow and prostrate.
Meaning:-
Prostrate: lying stretched out on the ground with one’s face downward, especially in reverence or submission.

22:27

And proclaim to mankind the Hajj (pilgrimage). They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highway (to perform Hajj).
Meaning:-
proclaim: to announce or declare, to declare publicly.

22:28

That they may witness the benefits (provided) for them and mention the name of Allah through the Days appointed over the cattle which He has provided for them (for sacrifice). So eat from their meat and feed the desperately poor.

22:29

Then they should accomplish their needful acts of shaving or cutting their hair and taking a bath, fulfill their vows and (again) circumambulate the Ancient House.” (the Ka’bah at Makkah).
Meaning:-
Circumambulate: to walk or go about or around, to circle on foot especially ritualistically.

22:30

That [has been commanded], and whoever honors the rituals of Allah – it is best for him in the sight of his Lord. The ˹meat of˺ cattle has been made lawful for you, except what is recited to you. So avoid the uncleanliness of idols and avoid false statement,
Meaning:-
Rituals: a religious service or other ceremony which involves a series of actions performed in a fixed order.
Idols: an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship, Fake Gods.

22:31

Being true in faith to Allah, associating none with Him ˹in worship˺. For whoever associates ˹others˺ with Allah is like someone who has fallen from the sky and is either snatched away by birds or swept by the wind to a remote place.
Meaning:-
Associates: partners, nearly equal status, to join as a companion.

22:32

Thus it is [what has been mentioned in the above said Verses (27, 28, 29, 30, 31) is an obligation that mankind owes to Allah]. And whosoever honours the Symbols of Allah, then it is truly from the piety of the heart.
Meaning:-
Piety: a strong belief in God or a religion, shown by your worship and behavior.

22:33

You may benefit (by using their milk) from the cattle dedicated for sacrifice, until the time of their slaughter, then their place of sacrifice is near the Ancient House (the Haram – sacred territory of Makkah city).
Meaning:-
Slaughter: butchering of cattle, sheep, etc.
Sacrifice: an act of slaughtering an animal, the offering of animal.

22:34

For every nation We prescribed a way of sacrifice so that they may mention the name of Allah over the cattle which He has given them for food, but the object is one and the same: to remember that your God is one God; so submit yourselves to Him as a Muslim, and O Prophet, give good news to the humble,

22:35

To those whose hearts when Allah is mentioned, are filled with fear, and the patient of whatever may befall them, and those who establish prayer and who spend (in charity) of that We have bestowed on them.
Meaning:-
Bestowed: an honor, right, an honor, to present as a gift.

22:36

We have made sacrificial camels ˹and cattle˺ among the symbols of Allah, in which there is ˹much˺ good for you. So mention the Name of Allah over them when they are lined up ˹for sacrifice˺. Once they have fallen ˹lifeless˺ on their sides, you may eat from their meat, and feed the needy—those who do not beg, and those who do. In this way We have subjected these ˹animals˺ to you so that you may be grateful.

22:37

It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah; it is your piety that reaches Him. Thus, He has subjected these animals to you so that you may glorify Allah for giving you guidance, and O Prophet, give good news to those who do good to others.
Meaning:-
Piety: a strong belief in God or a religion, shown by your worship and behavior.

22:39

Permission ˹to fight back˺ is ˹hereby˺ granted to those being fought, for they have been wronged. And Allah is truly Most Capable of helping them ˹prevail˺.
Meaning:-
Prevail: Prove more powerful than opposing forces; be victorious.

22:40

Those who have been expelled from their homes unjustly only because they said: “Our Lord is Allah.” – Had Allah not repelled ˹the aggression of˺ some people by means of others, destruction would have surely claimed monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which Allah’s Name is often mentioned. Allah will certainly help those who stand up for Him. Allah is truly All-Powerful, Almighty.
Meaning:-
Expel:force (someone) to leave a place.
Repelled: drive or force (an attack or attacker) back or away.
Aggression: a forceful action, often harmful, attack.
Monastery:a house or place of residence occupied by a community of persons,especially monks, living in seclusion under religious vows.
Synagogue:a Jewish house of worship, often having facilities for religious instruction

22:41

These are the people who, if We establish them in the land, will establish regular prayer and give regular charity, enjoin justice and forbid evil; the final decision of all affairs is in the hands of Allah.

22:44

as well as the residents of Madyan had denied their Prophets, likewise Musa (Moses) was also denied. Initially, I gave respite to all those unbelievers and then I seized them: see how (terrible) was my rejection (of them)!
Meaning:-
Respite: to grant delay in the carrying out of (a punishment, obligation, etc.).

22:45

And how many a city did We destroy while it was committing wrong – so it is [now] fallen into ruin – and [how many] an abandoned well and [how many] a lofty palace.
Meaning:-
Ruin: to severely harm, damage, to destroy or spoil.
Abandoned: having been deserted or cast off.
Lofty: building or structure: very tall, of imposing height; towering.

22:46

Have they not travelled through the land, and have they hearts wherewith to understand and ears wherewith to hear? Verily, it is not the eyes that grow blind, but it is the hearts which are in the breasts that grow blind.
