And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell).

And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter).

And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,

56:23

as lovely as well guarded pearls

56:24

as a reward for their good deeds that they had done.

56:25

There they shall not hear any ill speech nor sinful words,

56:26

but only the greetings of “Peace be upon you! Peace be upon you!”

56:27

Those of the right hand – happy shall be those on the right hand!

56:28

They shall be among the thorn less lote trees,
Meaning:-

56:29

And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]

56:30

extended thick shades,

56:31

And water poured out

56:32

And many (kinds) of fruit-

56:33

Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off,

56:34

And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high.

Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation

56:36

and make them virgins

beloved by nature, equal in age,

56:38

For the Companions of the Right Hand.

A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam).
Meaning:-
Multitude: a large gathering of people.

56:40

and many from the later generations.

56:41

As for those of the left hand – how unfortunate will be the people of the left hand!

56:42

(They will be) In hot wind and boiling water,

56:43

and in the shade of a pitch-black smoke,

56:44

(That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good,

56:45

Surely they were before that (living) in ease and luxury.

56:46

And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.)
Meaning:-
Persisting: stay, continue firmly, to continue to do something.

56:47

and used to say: “When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised to life again?

56:48

And our forefathers [as well]?”

56:49

Say (O Muhammad): “(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times.

56:50

shall certainly be brought together on an appointed time of a known Day.

56:51

“Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)!

56:52

Will be eating from trees of zaqqum

Zaqqum (Arabic): is a tree that “springs out of the bottom of hell-fire” or Jahannam.

56:53

And filling with it your bellies

56:54

And drink boiling water on top of it

56:55

And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels.

56:56

That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense!

56:57

We have created you, so why do you not believe?

56:58

Have you ever considered the semen you discharge:

56:59

Is it you who create the child from it, or are We the Creator?

56:60

It is We Who have ordained death among you and We are not helpless
Meaning:-
Ordain: order, command.

56:61

In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.

56:62

And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?

56:63

And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?
Meaning:-
Sow: plant (seed) by scattering it on or in the earth.

56:64

Is it you who cause it to grow or are We the grower?

If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,
Meaning:-
Debris: The scattered remains of something broken or destroyed; rubble or wreckage

56:66

(Saying), “We are indeed left with debts (for nothing):

56:67

56:68

And have you seen the water that you drink?

56:69

Is it you who send it down from the clouds or are We the sender?

56:70

If it be Our Will, We could turn it salty. Why then do you not give thanks?

56:71

Have you ever considered the fire that you kindle?
Meaning:-
kindle: light, ignite or set on fire

56:72

Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower?

56:73

We have made it a reminder for man as to what would be the life without it, and a provision of life for the travellers of desert.

56:74

So glorify the name of your Lord, Who is the Greatest.

56:75

But nay! I swear by the falling of stars;

56:76

And most surely it is a very great oath if you only knew;

56:77

that this is indeed a Glorious Qur’an,

56:78

In a Book well-guarded (with Allah in the heaven i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).
Meaning:-
Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz: Click Here

56:79

Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels).

56:80

A revelation (this Quran) from the Lord of the Worlds.

56:81

Is it such a talk (this Quran) that you (disbelievers) deny?

56:82

And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)!

56:83

Why is it not then that when you see a dying person’s soul come up to his throat

56:84

while you are helplessly watching

56:85

– and at that time We are nearer to him than you, although you cannot see Us.

56:86

why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us],

56:87

Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful?

56:88

Then if the dying person is one of those near to Us,

56:89

(There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of delights (Paradise).

56:90

And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand,

56:91

Then [the angels will say], “Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right.”

56:92

And if he is one of the mistaken rejecters,

56:93

Then the welcome will be boiling water

56:94

And burning in Hellfire

56:95

Surely this is an absolute truth.

56:96

Therefore, glorify the name of your Rabb, Who is the Greatest.
