QURAN
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah , then indeed, Allah is swift in [taking] account. 3:19
And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted from him, and in the hereafter he shall be one of the losers. 3:85
In fact, your religion is one religion, and I am your only Lord: so fear Me Alone. 23:52
QURAN
This (The Qur’an) is nothing but a Reminder to all the people of the world. 68:52
This Book (The Qur’an) which We have sent down to you (O Muhammad) is highly blessed, so that they may ponder upon its verses and the men of understanding may learn a lesson from it. 38:29
But as to those who disbelieved, Allah will say: “Were My verses not recited to you? But you showed arrogance and became a people of criminals”. 45:31
QURAN
Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects – you, [O Muhammad], are not [associated] with them in anything. Their affair is only [left] to Allah ; then He will inform them about what they used to do. 6:159
But the people have divided their religion into sects between them- to Us they shall all return. 21:93
QURAN
Those who divide their religion into sects and become separate groups, each group rejoicing in its own circle. 30:32
But the people divided their religion among them into sects – each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 23:53
But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 23:54
QURAN
Say: “That (this Quran) is a great news, 38:67
This ( Quran) is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. 38:87
This (the Quran) is but a Message to all the people of the world, 81:27
Quran Chapters
Chapter 26 : Ash-Shu’araa – 227 Verses
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
26:1
Ta-Sin-Mim.
[These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.]
26:2
These are the verses of the clear Book.
26:3
Perhaps ‘O Muhammad’ you will kill yourself with grief because they do not believe.
26:4
If We wanted, We could send down upon them a sign from the heaven before which they would bend their necks in submission, but that is not what We want.
26:5
Whatever new reminder comes to them from the Most Compassionate ‘Allah’, they always turn away from it.
Meaning:-
Compassionate: feeling or showing sympathy and concern for others.
26:6
They have certainly denied ˹the truth˺, so they will soon face the consequences of their ridicule.
Meaning:-
Consequences: result or effect of something.
Ridicule: mockery, derision, laughter, make fun of.
26:7
Have they not looked at the earth to see how We have caused all kinds of noble pairs to grow in it?
26:8
Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
26:9
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
26:10
Remind them of the story when your Lord called Musa (Moses) and said: “Go to the wrongdoing people—
26:11
the people of Fir’on (Pharaoh). Will they not fear ˹Allah˺?”
26:12
Musa replied, saying: “My Lord! I fear that they will reject me.
26:13
And ˹so˺ my heart will be broken and my tongue will be tied. So send Aaron along ˹to help me˺.
26:14
Also, they have a charge against me, so I fear they may kill me.”
26:15
Allah said: “Indeed not! Proceed, both of you, with Our signs; surely We are with you, listening.
26:16
Go to Fir’on and tell him: “We are the messengers from the Lord of the Worlds.
26:17
˹commanded to say:˺ ‘Let the Children of Israel go with us.”
26:18
When they went to Fir’on and conveyed the Message of Allah, he said: “Did we not cherish you when you were a child? Did you not stay several years of your life among us?
26:19
Then you did what you did, and you were of the ungrateful.”
26:20
Musa replied: “I did that when I was a misguided youth.
26:21
I fled from you all because I feared you; but now my Lord has granted me wisdom and appointed me as one of His Messengers.
Meaning:-
Fled: to run away often from danger or evil
26:22
How can that be a ‘favour,’ of which you remind me, when ˹it was only because˺ you ˹have˺ enslaved the Children of Israel?”
Meaning:-
Enslave: make (someone) a slave.
26:23
Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds?
26:24
Musa replied: “He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you really care to believe”.
26:25
Fir’on said to those around him, “Do you hear that?”
26:26
Musa continued: “He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.”
26:27
Pharaoh said ˹mockingly˺, “Your messenger, who has been sent to you, must be madman.”
Meaning:-
Mockingly: in a way that makes fun of someone or something; derisively.
26:28
Musa continued:” He is the Lord of the east and west, and all that lies between them. If you would only care and try to understand.”
26:29
At this, Fir’on, who did not want to listen any more said: “If you take any other god besides me, I shall have you thrown into prison.”
26:30
Musa (Moses) said: “Even if I bring you a clear proof?”
26:31
Fir’on said: “Go ahead, show it if you are of the truthful.”
26:32
So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it became a real snake.
Meaning:-
Behold: see or observe
26:33
Then he drew forth his hand ˹out of his collar˺ and it became shining bright for the spectators.
Meaning:-
Spectators: a person who watches at a show, game, or other event.
26:34
(Firon) said to the chiefs around him: Most surely this is a skillful magician,
26:35
“He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic. Now what is your advice?”
26:36
They replied, “Put him and his brother off for a while, and dispatch mobilizers to all cities
Meaning:-
Mobilizers: to assemble, to organize.
26:37
to bring you every skilled magician.”
26:38
So the magicians were assembled at the set time on the appointed day.
26:39
And the people were asked, “Will you join the gathering,
26:40
“That we may follow the magicians [who were on Fir’aun’s (Pharaoh) religion of disbelief] if they are the winners.”
26:41
So when the magicians arrived, they said to (Fir’aun) Pharaoh: “Of course – shall we have a (suitable) reward if we win?
26:42
Fir’on replied: “Yes of course! You will even be made my courtiers.”
Meaning:-
Courtier: adviser to the king or queen.
26:43
Moses said to them, “Throw whatever you will throw.”
26:44
Thereupon they threw down their sticks and ropes, saying: “By the glory of Fir’on, we shall be the winners.”
26:45
Then Musa threw down his stick/cane, and lo! It swallowed their false devices.
Meaning:-
Lo: used to attract attention, used to draw attention to an interesting or amazing event.
False: it is incorrect, untrue, said to fool or deceive someone
Devices: an objects
26:46
So the magicians fell down in prostration.
Meaning:-
Prostrate: lying stretched out on the ground with one’s face downward, especially in reverence or submission.
26:47
saying: “We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,
26:48
“The Lord of Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron).”
26:49
Fir’on shouted: “How dare you believe in him before I give you permission? He must be your master who taught you the magic. But soon you shall find out. I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides and crucify you all.”
26:50
They replied: “We don’t care! We are going to return to our Lord anyway.
26:51
We only desire that our Lord may forgive us our sins, as we are the first to believe.”
26:52
And We revealed to Musa, ˹saying,˺ “Leave with My servants travelling by night, surely you will be pursued.
Meaning:-
Pursue: capture, kill, follow in order to catch or attack them.
26:53
Then Fir’on ‘Pharaoh’ sent mobilizers to all cities,
Meaning:-
Mobilizers: to assemble (armed forces) into readiness for active service
26:54
They announced “These people are a small group.”
26:55
who have really enraged us,
Meaning:-
Enraged: very angry; furious.
26:56
while we have a large army, well prepared.”
26:57
So We removed them from gardens and springs
26:58
Treasures, and every kind of honorable place.
26:59
This is how they were made to lose, while on the other hand We made the Children of Israel possess them.
Meaning:-
Possess: to seize and take control of, to own or to have.
26:60
And so ‘the Egyptians’ caught up with them at sunrise;
26:61
When the two groups came face to face, the companions of Moses cried out, “We are overtaken for sure.”
26:62
Musa said: “Not at all! My Lord is with me; He will show me a way out.”
26:63
Then We revealed Our will to Musa: “Strike the sea with your stick,” and the sea was split, each part was like a huge mountain.
26:64
We made the other party (Fir’on and his army) follow them.
26:65
And We saved Musa (Moses) and all those with him.
26:66
Then We drowned the others.
Meaning:-
Drowned: to die of suffocation under water, they die because they have gone or been pushed under water and cannot breathe.
26:67
Surely there is a lesson in this: yet most of these people do not learn this lesson to become believers.
26:68
The fact is that your Lord is the Mighty as well as the Merciful.
26:69
Tell them ˹O Prophet˺ the story of Ibrahim,
26:70
When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?”
26:71
They replied: “We worship idols, to which we are fully devoted.”
Meaning:-
Idols: a false god, statue, an object, an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship.
Devoted: dedicated, extremely loving and loyal,
26:72
Ibrahim asked: “Do they hear you when you call on them?
26:73
Can they help you or harm you?”
26:74
They replied: “No! But we found our forefathers doing so.”
26:75
Abraham said, “Have you ˹really˺ considered what you have been worshipping—
26:76
you and your forefathers?
26:77
Indeed, they are ˹all˺ enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,
26:78
“Who created me, and it is He Who guides me;
26:79
He is the One Who gives me food and drink,
26:80
Who gives me health when I get sick,
26:81
Who will cause me to die and then bring me back to life,
26:82
Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgment.”
26:83
After this, Ibrahim prayed: “O my Lord! Grant me wisdom, and join me with the righteous.
26:84
and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me ‘later generations’.
26:85
Make me one of those awarded the Garden of Pleasure.
26:86
Forgive my father, for he is certainly one of the misguided.
26:87
do not hold me up in shame on the Day when everybody will be raised back to life
26:88
The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children
26:89
and when none shall be saved except him who will come before Allah with a pure heart,
26:90
when paradise shall be brought in the sight of the righteous;
26:91
whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error;
Meaning:-
Blazing: burning brightly and with great heat, force,
Grievous: extremely serious or severe.
Error: a mistake, having incorrect or false knowledge. ·
26:92
and they will be asked: “Now, where are those whom you worshipped
26:93
besides Allah? Can they help you or even help themselves?”
26:94
Then the idols will be hurled headlong into Hell ‘Fire’, along with them all those ‘wretched fellows’ who had deviated from the right path.
Meaning:-
Idols: a false god, statue, an object, an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship.
Hurled : throw (an object) with great force.
Headlong: With the head leading; headfirst, rashly, or really quickly.
Wretched: someone who is so miserable, deeply afflicted, very distressed, extremely or deplorably bad
Deviated: To turn aside from a course or way.
26:95
And the soldiers of Iblees, all together.
26:96
Wherein they will argue with one another
26:97
saying: “By Allah! We were clearly mistaken,
26:98
When we made you ‘false deities‘ equal to the Lord of the worlds;
Meaning:-
False deities Fake Gods or goddess, objects, Images or divine status.
26:99
It was the criminals who led us astray.
Meaning:-
Astray: away from the correct path or direction.
26:100
Now we have none to intercede for us,
Meaning:-
Intercede: act as mediator or advocate, intervene on behalf of another.
26:101
Nor a true friend;
26:102
If only we could have a second chance ‘return to our worldly life’, we would be of the true believers.”
26:103
Surely in this sign there is a great lesson, but most of these people do not learn a lesson to become believers.
26:104
The fact is that your Lord is the Mighty as well as the Merciful.
26:105
The people of Noah rejected the messengers.
26:106
Remember when their brother Noah asked them: “Have you no fear of Allah?
26:107
I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
26:108
so fear Allah and obey me.
26:109
I do not ask you any reward for my services, for my reward will be given by the Lord of the Worlds,
26:110
so fear Allah and obey me.”
26:111
They argued, “How can we believe in you, when you are followed ˹only˺ by the lowest [class of people]?”
26:112
He said: “I have no knowledge as to what they have been doing ‘in the past’;
26:113
their account is the concern of my Lord, if you could use your common sense!
26:114
Hence, I shall not drive away [any of] those [who profess to be] believers;
26:115
I am only sent with a clear warning.”
26:116
They threatened, “If you do not stop, O Noah, you will surely be stoned ˹to death˺.”
Meaning:-
Threatened: to give signs or warning of, in danger, or likely to stop existing.
26:117
He said, “My Lord, indeed my people have denied me.
26:118
“Therefore make a decisive judgement between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me.”
Meaning:-
Decisive: Settling an issue; producing a definite result.
26:119
So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.
Meaning:-
Laden: heavily loaded.
26:120
Then We drowned the rest ‘disbelievers’ thereafter.
Meaning:-
Drowned: to die of suffocation under water, they die because they have gone or been pushed under water and cannot breathe.
26:121
Surely in this story there is a great lesson, but most of these people do not learn a lesson to become believers.
26:122
The fact is that your Lord is the Mighty as well as the Merciful.
26:123
The people of ‘Ad, too, disbelieved their Messengers.
26:124
When their brother Hud said to them, “Will you not fear Allah ?
26:125
Surely I am a faithful messenger to you;
26:126
So fear Allah and obey me.
26:127
I do not ask you any reward for my services, for my reward will be given by the Lord of the Worlds.
26:128
“Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them?
26:129
“And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein forever.
26:130
Why do you act like cruel tyrants whenever you attack someone?
Meaning:-
Tyrants: a cruel and oppressive ruler, a sovereign or other ruler who uses power oppressively or unjustly.
26:131
So fear Allah and obey me.
26:132
Fear the One Who has given you all the things that you know.
26:133
He provided you with cattle, and children,
26:134
gardens and fountains.
26:135
Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day.”
26:136
They said, “It is all the same to us whether you warn ˹us˺ or not.
26:137
Such preaching is nothing but an ancient myth.
Meaning:-
Myth:any invented story, idea, or concept:
26:138
We are not going to be punished.”
26:139
So they disbelieved him and We utterly destroyed them. Surely in this story there is a great lesson, but most of these people do not learn a lesson to become believers.
26:140
The fact is that your Lord is the Mighty as well as the Merciful.
26:141
The people of Thamud also disbelieved their messengers.
26:142
When their brother Salih (Saleh) said to them: “Will you not fear Allah and obey Him?
26:143
Surely I am a faithful messenger to you
26:144
So fear Allah and obey me.
26:145
I do not ask you any reward for my services, for my reward will be given by the Lord of the Worlds.
26:146
Do you think you will be ˹forever˺ left secure in ‘the enjoyment of’ what you have here:
26:147
In gardens and fountains,
26:148
and ˹various˺ crops, and palm trees ˹loaded˺ with tender fruit;
26:149
to carve homes in the mountains with great skill?
26:150
So fear Allah and obey me.
26:151
And do not obey the order of the transgressors,
Meaning:-
Transgressors: violating a law or command or going beyond a boundary or limit
26:152
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend.”
Meaning:-
Amend: make better; improve.
26:153
They said, “You are only of those affected by magic.
26:154
You are no more than a human being like us. Bring forth a sign if you are one of the truthful.”
26:155
He said: This is a she-camel; she shall have her portion of water, and you have your portion of water on an appointed time;
26:156
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day.”
26:157
But they killed her, becoming regretful.
26:158
so the punishment overtook them. Surely in this story there is a great lesson, but most of these people do not learn a lesson to become believers.
26:159
The fact is that your Lord is the Mighty as well as the Merciful.
26:160
The people of Lut (Lot), also, disbelieved their messengers.
26:161
Remember when their brother Lut asked them: “Have you no fear of Allah?
26:162
Surely I am a faithful messenger to you;
26:163
So fear Allah and obey me.
26:164
And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds;
26:165
“Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men,
Meaning:-
Lustfully: expressing strong sexual desire.
26:166
leaving the wives that your Allah has created for you? In fact, you are a transgressing people.”
Meaning:-
Transgressing: offend; sin, to go beyond a boundary or limit.
26:167
They replied, “If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be expelled.”
Meaning:-
Desist: stop, cease, quit, discontinue.
Expelled: to drive or force out or away, force ‘someone’ to leave a place, especially a country.
26:168
Lot responded, “I am truly one of those who despise your ˹shameful˺ practice.
Meaning:-
Despise: you dislike them and have a very low opinion of them.
26:169
My Lord, save me and my family from ‘the consequence of’ what they do.”
Meaning:-
Consequence: a result or effect of an action.
26:170
So We saved him and all of his family,
26:171
Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind.
26:172
Then afterward We destroyed the others.
26:173
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.
26:174
Surely in this story there is a great lesson, but most of these people do not learn a lesson to become believers.
26:175
And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful.
26:176
The people of Aiykah, also, disbelieved their messengers.
26:177
Remember Shu’aib asked them: “Have you no fear of Allah?
26:178
Surely I am a faithful messenger to you;
26:179
So fear Allah and obey me.
26:180
And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds;
26:181
“[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others by fraud];
26:182
And weigh (things) with a right balance,
26:183
and do not defraud people of their property. Nor go about spreading corruption in the land.
26:184
Fear Him Who has created you and the generations before you”.
26:185
They said, “You are only of those affected by magic.
26:186
You are no more than a human being like us and we think that you are lying.
26:187
So cause ˹deadly˺ pieces of the sky to fall upon us, if what you say is true.”
26:188
Shu’aib said: “My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions”.
26:189
And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black ˹deadly˺ cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day.
26:190
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
26:191
The fact is that your Lord is the Mighty as well as the Merciful.
26:192
Surely this Qur’an is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
26:193
The trustworthy Spirit ‘Angel Gabriel’ brought it down
26:194
upon your heart so that you may become one of those who are appointed by Allah to warn the people
26:195
in a plain Arabic language
26:196
And verily, it ‘the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad’ is ‘announced’ in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat ‘Torah’ and the Injeel ‘Gospel’] of former people.
26:197
Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]?
26:198
And if We had revealed it ‘this Quran’ unto any of the non-Arabs,
26:199
And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it.
26:200
Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin:
Meaning:-
Unheeded: overlooked, forgotten, neglected, unnoticed, disobeyed, disregarded or ignored
26:201
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.
26:202
But the ‘Penalty’ will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not;
Meaning:-
Perceive: become aware or conscious of (something); come to realize or understand.
26:203
Then they will cry, “Can we be allowed more time?”
26:204
So for Our punishment are they impatient?
26:205
Just think! If We let them enjoy this life for many years,
26:206
Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised!
26:207
It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)!
26:208
Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it,
26:209
As a reminder; and never have We been unjust.
26:210
It was not the devils who brought this ˹Quran˺ down:
26:211
it is neither in their interest nor in their power to produce such a masterpiece.
26:212
They are kept too far off to even hear it.
26:213
So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished,
26:214
And warn ˹all, starting with˺ your closest relatives,
26:215
And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you.
26:216
but if they disobey, tell them: “I am not accountable for what you do.”
26:217
Put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Merciful,
26:218
Who sees you when you rise ˹for prayer at night˺,
26:219
And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers).
Meaning:-
Prostrate: lying stretched out on the ground with one’s face downward, especially in reverence or submission
26:220
He is the One Who hears all and knows all.
26:221
Shall I tell you, O people, on whom the shaitans descend?
Meaning:-
Descend: make a sudden attack on.
26:222
They descend on every slandering sinner.
Meaning:-
Descend: make a sudden attack on.
Slander: blacken someone’s name, tell lies about, speak ill/evil of, sully someone’s reputation. make false and damaging statements about (someone).
26:223
They pass on what is heard ˹to half-truth˺, and most of them are liars.
26:224
As for poets, only the misguided follow them.
26:225
See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry?
26:226
only saying what they never do?
26:227
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. The wrongdoers will come to know what ˹evil˺ end they will meet.
