QURAN
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah , then indeed, Allah is swift in [taking] account. 3:19
And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted from him, and in the hereafter he shall be one of the losers. 3:85
In fact, your religion is one religion, and I am your only Lord: so fear Me Alone. 23:52
QURAN
This (The Qur’an) is nothing but a Reminder to all the people of the world. 68:52
This Book (The Qur’an) which We have sent down to you (O Muhammad) is highly blessed, so that they may ponder upon its verses and the men of understanding may learn a lesson from it. 38:29
But as to those who disbelieved, Allah will say: “Were My verses not recited to you? But you showed arrogance and became a people of criminals”. 45:31
QURAN
Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects – you, [O Muhammad], are not [associated] with them in anything. Their affair is only [left] to Allah ; then He will inform them about what they used to do. 6:159
But the people have divided their religion into sects between them- to Us they shall all return. 21:93
QURAN
Those who divide their religion into sects and become separate groups, each group rejoicing in its own circle. 30:32
But the people divided their religion among them into sects – each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 23:53
But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 23:54
QURAN
Say: “That (this Quran) is a great news, 38:67
This ( Quran) is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. 38:87
This (the Quran) is but a Message to all the people of the world, 81:27
Quran Chapters
Chapter 17 : Al-‘Isra’ – 111 Verses
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
17:1
Glory be to Him Who took His devotee (Muhammad) one night from Masjid-al-Haram (in Makkah) to Masjid-al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem), whose vicinity We have blessed, so that We may show him some of Our signs: surely He is the One Who is the Hearer, the Observer.
Meaning:-
Devotee: a strong believer in a particular religion or god, follower, supporter, disciple.
Vicinity: A nearby, surrounding, or adjoining region; a neighborhood.
17:2
We gave Musa (Moses) the Book and made it a guide for the Children of Israel, saying: “Do not take any other protector besides Me.
17:3
O descendants of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah. Indeed, he was a grateful servant.
Meaning:-
Descendants: a person who is related to you and who lives after you, such as your child or grandchild, successor, disciple.
17:4
And We warned the Children of Israel in the Scripture, “You will certainly cause corruption in the land twice, and you will become extremely arrogant.
Meaning:-
Arrogant: a sense of superiority, self-importance, having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one’s own importance or abilities.
17:5
When the first of the two warnings would come to pass, We would send against you some of Our servants of great might, who would ravage your homes. This would be a warning fulfilled.
Meaning:-
Ravage: the severely damaging or destructive effects of something.
17:6
Then We gave back to you a return victory over them. And We reinforced you with wealth and sons and made you more numerous in manpower
17:7
[And said], “If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, [you do it] to yourselves.” Then when the final promise came, [We sent your enemies] to sadden your faces and to enter the temple in Jerusalem, as they entered it the first time, and to destroy what they had taken over with [total] destruction.
Meaning:-
Sadden: cause to feel sorrow; make unhappy.
17:8
[Then Allah said], “It is expected, [if you repent], that your Lord will have mercy upon you. But if you return [to sin], We will return [to punishment]. And We have made Hell, for the disbelievers, a prison-bed.”
17:9
Surely this Qur’an guides to the Way which is perfectly straight and gives the good news to the believers who do good that they shall have a magnificent reward;
17:10
And that those who do not believe in the Hereafter – We have prepared for them a painful punishment.
17:11
As it is, man [often] prays for things that are bad as if he were praying for something that is good: for man is prone to be hasty [in his judgments].
Meaning:-
Prone: likely to do it, have a habit of doing it.
Hasty: done in a hurry; doing things quickly and without careful planning.
17:12
And We have made the night and day two signs, and We erased the sign of the night and made the sign of the day visible that you may seek bounty from your Lord and may know the number of years and the account [of time]. And everything We have set out in detail.
Meaning:-
Bountiful: giving generously, unselfish, charitable.
17:13
And every man: We have fastened his action round his neck. On the Day of Resurrection, We shall bring out a record for each of them, which they will find spread wide open.
17:14
saying: “Here is your book of deeds: read it. Today you yourself are sufficient to take your own account.”
17:15
Whoever chooses to be guided, it is only for their own good. And whoever chooses to astray, it is only to their own loss. No soul burdened with sin will bear the burden of another. And We would never punish ˹a people˺ until We have sent a messenger ˹to warn them˺.
Meaning:-
Astray: into error, away from the correct path or direction.
17:16
Whenever We have intended to destroy a town, it was because We sent Our commandments to its people who were leading easy lives but they showed disobedience; as a result Our judgement was passed, and We razed that city to the ground.
Meaning:-
Raze: destroy, demolish, raze to the ground, tear down, pull down, knock down
17:17
And how many of the generations did We destroy after Nuh! and your Lord is sufficient as Knowing and Seeing with regard to His servants’ faults.
17:18
If any do wish for the transitory things (of this life), We readily grant them – such things as We will, to such person as We will: in the end have We provided Hell for them: they will burn therein, disgraced and rejected.
Meaning:-
Transitory: temporary, brief, short, short-lived, short-term.
17:19
But whoever desires the Hereafter and exerts the effort due to it while he is a believer – it is those whose effort is ever appreciated [by Allah ].
Meaning:-
exerts: strive, try hard, make an/every effort, endeavor,
17:20
We provide both the former and the latter from the bounty of your Lord. And the bounty of your Lord can never be withheld.
Meaning:-
Bounty: a generous gift, a monetary gift or reward.
17:21
See how We have favoured some over others ˹in this life˺, but the Hereafter is certainly far greater in rank and in favour.
17:22
Do not set up another deity besides God, or you will be sitting disgraced and forsaken.
Meaning:-
Deity: God; Supreme Being, like a god or goddess, Fake God.
Disgraced: Loss of honor, respect, or reputation; shame. dishonor or is dishonorable or shameful.
forsaken: Forgotten, left behind, and not cared for, to leave someone forever.
17:23
For your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And honour your parents, good treatment. If one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, never say to them ˹even˺ ‘uff,’ nor yell at them. Rather, address (speak) them respectfully (noble word).
Meaning:-
Decreed: authoritative order, An authoritative order having the force of law.
Uff: “uff” is simply an expressive word used in exclamation when someone finds a situation to be extremely annoying, surprising, astonishing, exhausting.
17:24
And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, “My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.”
17:25
Your Lord knows best what is within yourselves. If you are righteous, He is certainly All-Forgiving to those who ˹constantly˺ turn to Him.
17:26
And give the relative his right, and [also] the poor and the traveler, and do not spend wastefully.
17:27
Indeed, the spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayatin (devils), and the Shaytan (devils) is ever ungrateful to his Lord.
Meaning:-
Spendthrifts: a person who spends money in an extravagant, irresponsible way.
17:28
but if, while seeking some Bounty that you expect from your Lord, you turn them down, then at least speak some word of comfort to them.
Meaning:-
Bounty: a large amount, a generous gift. generosity; liberality, a monetary gift or reward.
17:29
And let not your hand be tied (like a miser) to your neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach (like a spendthrift), so that you become blameworthy and in severe poverty.
Meaning:-
Miser: a person who hoards wealth and spends as little money as possible.
Spendthrift: a person who spends money in an extravagant, irresponsible way.
17:30
Indeed, your Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. Indeed He is ever, concerning His servants, Acquainted and Seeing.
Meaning:-
Acquainted: make someone aware of or familiar with.
(“acquainted with someone” means to get to know somebody. You meet a person and got to know this person so you became acquainted with that person.)
17:31
And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin.
17:32
And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way.
Meaning:-
immorality: wickedness, immoral behavior, badness, evil, vileness, corruption, dishonesty
17:33
You shall not kill anyone whom Allah has forbidden, except for just cause under the law. If anyone is killed unjustly, We have granted the right of retribution to his heir, but let him not carry his vengeance too far in killing the culprit through taking the law in his own hands, as he is supported by the law.
Meaning:-
Retribution: punishment, penalty,
Vengeance: revenge, retribution, retaliation, payback,
Culprit: a person who is responsible for a crime or other misdeed.
17:34
You shall not go near the property of an orphan, except with the good intention of improving it, until he attains his maturity. You shall fulfill your pledges; surely you shall be held accountable for your pledges.
Meaning:-
pledge: promise, undertaking, vow, word, word of honor, commitment, assurance, oath, guarantee
17:35
And give full measure when you measure, and weigh with an even balance. That is the best [way] and best in result.
17:36
You shall not follow anyone blindly in those matters of which you have no knowledge, surely the use of your ears and the eyes and the heart – all of these, shall be questioned on the Day of Judgement.
17:37
And do not walk on the earth arrogantly. Surely you can neither crack the earth nor stretch to the height of the mountains.
Meaning:-
Arrogant: a sense of superiority, self-importance, having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one’s own importance or abilities.
17:38
The evil of all these actions is hateful to your Lord.
17:39
This is part of the wisdom which your Lord has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺. And do not set up any other god (deities) with Allah ˹O humanity˺, or you will be cast into Hell, blameworthy, rejected.
Meaning:-
Deity: God; Supreme Being, like a god or goddess, Fake God.
Blameworthy: responsible for wrongdoing, having done something wrong.
17:40
Has your Lord favoured you ˹pagans˺ with sons and taken angels as ˹His˺ daughters? You are truly making an outrageous claim.
Meaning:-
Pagan: is a person who worships many gods or who worships nature and the Earth.
Outrageous: very shocking or unreasonable; extremely unusual and shocking.
Explanation: Some pagans had the belief that the angels are the daughters of Allah.
17:41
And We have explained in this Qur’an in various ways, for them to understand; and it increases nothing except their hatred towards it.
17:42
Say, [O Muhammad],˺ “Had there been other gods besides Him—as they claim—then they would have certainly sought a way to ˹challenge˺ the Lord of the Throne.”
Meaning:-
sought: to go in search of : look for.
17:43
Glory be to Him! He is far above the things that they say about Him.
17:44
The seven heavens, the earth, and all those in them glorify Him. There is not a single thing that does not glorify His praises—but you ˹simply˺ cannot understand their glorification. He is indeed Most Forbearing, All-Forgiving.
Meaning:-
Forbearing: to be patient or self-controlled when subject to annoyance or provocation.
17:45
When you recite the Qur’an, We put a hidden barrier between you and those who do not believe in the hereafter.
Meaning:-
Barrier: something that makes it difficult for people to understand each other.
17:46
And We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And when you mention your Lord alone in the Qur’an, they turn back in aversion.
Meaning:-
Aversion: a strong dislike or disinclination.
17:47
We are most knowing of how they listen to it when they listen to you and [of] when they are in private conversation, when the wrongdoers say, “You follow not but a man affected by magic.”
Meaning:-
Wrongdoer: a person who behaves illegally or dishonestly; an offender.
17:48
See how they call you names ˹O Prophet˺! So they have gone so ˹far˺ astray that they cannot find the ˹Right˺ Way.
Meaning:-
Astray: into error, away from the correct path or direction
Explanation on call names: as a magician, a poet, a fabricator, and madman.
17:49
And they say, “When we are bones and crumbled particles, will we [truly] be resurrected as a new creation?”
17:50
Tell them: “(Yes, most certainly you shall be brought back to life), even if you be stones or iron
17:51
or even something harder than this that you may think of.” Then they will ask: “Who will restore us?” Say: “The One Who created you the first time.” Then they will shake their heads at you and ask: “Well, when will this be?” Say, “It may be quite soon!
17:52
It will be on the Day when He will call you and you will raise up in response to it, with His praise, thinking that you have stayed (on the earth) but a little while.”
17:53
Tell My servants that they should speak only what is the best. Surely shaitan stirs up trouble among them. The fact is that shaitan is an open enemy to mankind.
17:54
Your Lord knows you best. He may have mercy on you if He wills, or punish you if He wills. We have not sent you ˹O Prophet˺ as a keeper (guardian) over them.
17:55
Your Lord knows best all those in the heavens and the earth. And We have surely favoured some prophets above others [in various ways], and to David We gave the book [of Psalms].
Meaning:-
Psalms: Zabur (Arabic) is the holy book of Dawud (David), one of the holy books revealed by God before the Qur’an, alongside others such as the Tawrat (Torah) of Musa (Moses) and the Injil (Gospel) of Isa (Jesus).
17:56
SAY: “Call upon those [beings] whom you imagine [to be endowed with divine powers] beside Him- and [you will find that] they have it not in their power to remove any affliction from you, or to shift it [elsewhere].
Meaning:-
Endowed: to furnish, as with some talent, faculty, or quality.
Divine: of or relating to a god, especially the Supreme Being.
Affliction: (of a problem or illness) cause pain or suffering to; affect or trouble.
17:57
˹Even˺ the closest ˹to Allah˺ of those invoked would be seeking a way to their Lord, hoping for His mercy, and fearing His punishment. Indeed, your Lord’s punishment is fearsome.
Meaning:-
Invoked: call on (a deity or spirit) in prayer, as a witness, or for inspiration.
17:58
There is not a town but We shall destroy it before the Day of Resurrection or punish it with a severe punishment; this fact has been recorded in the Eternal Record.
Meaning:-
Eternal: lasting or existing forever; without end or beginning.
17:59
And nothing stops Us from sending signs (miracles) only because the men of former generations treated them as false. For example, We sent the she-camel to the people of Thamud – a manifest sign – but they laid violent hands on her. We send the signs only by way of warning, and if people reject the sign after receiving it, they are doomed.
Meaning:-
False: not true, based on mistaken ideas.
Manifest: to make clear or obvious to the eye or mind or the understanding; show plainly
Doomed: likely to have an unfortunate and inescapable outcome; ill-fated.
17:60
Remember, O Muhammad! We told you that your Lord encompasses mankind. We have made the Vision which We showed you, and the cursed tree of Zaqqum which is mentioned in the Qur’an, a test for these people of Makkah. We are giving them warning to be fearful but it only increases their inordinate transgression.
Meaning:-
Encompass: surround and have or hold within, to form a circle about : enclose.
Zaqqum: (Arabic) is a tree that “springs out of the bottom of hell-fire” or Jahannam. It is mentioned in verses 17:60 (as the “cursed tree”), 37:62-68, 44:43, and 56:52, of the Quran.
Inordinate: unreasonable, unjustifiable, unwarrantable, disproportionate, unwarranted, unnecessary,
Transgression: violation of a law, command, etc.; sin.
17:61
And ˹remember˺ when We said to the angels, “Prostrate before Adam,” They all prostrated except Iblees (Shaitan), who replied: “Should I prostrate to the one whom You have created from mud?”
Meaning:-
Prostrate: lying stretched out on the ground with one’s face downward, especially in reverence or submission.
17:62
[Iblees] said, “Do You see this one whom You have honored above me? If You delay me until the Day of Resurrection, I will surely destroy his descendants, except for a few.”
Meaning:-
Descendants: a person who is related to you and who lives after you, such as your child or grandchild, successor, disciple.
17:63
Allah said: “Go away! Hell is your reward, and the reward of those who follow you, an ample reward it shall be.
Meaning:-
Ample: more than enough; plentiful.
17:64
You may try to allure whomsoever you can with your seductive voice, muster against them all your cavalry and infantry, be their partner in their riches and their children, and promise them what you will – the promises of shaitan are nothing but deception
Meaning:-
Allure: the quality of being powerfully and mysteriously attractive or fascinating.
Seduce: to lead astray, as from duty, rectitude, or the like; corrupt.
Muster: assemble (troops), especially for inspection or in preparation for battle.
Cavalry: soldiers who fought on horseback.
Infantry: soldiers marching or fighting on foot; foot soldiers collectively.
Deception: the action of deceiving someone.
17:65
˹Allah added,˺ “You will truly have no authority over My ˹faithful˺ servants.” And sufficient is your Lord as a Guardian.
17:66
It is your Lord who drives the ship for you through the sea that you may seek of His bounty. Indeed, He is ever, to you, Merciful.
Meaning:-
Bounty: generosity; liberality, a monetary gift or reward.
17:67
Whenever any adversity strikes you at sea, you ˹totally˺ forget all ˹the gods˺ you ˹normally˺ invoke, except Him. But when He delivers you ˹safely˺ to shore, you turn your backs upon Him. Indeed, man is ever ungrateful.
Meaning:-
Adversity: difficulties, misfortune, bad luck, trouble, hardship, distress, disaster, suffering.
Invoke: appeal to, pray to, call on (a deity or spirit) in prayer, as a witness, or for inspiration.
17:68
Do you feel secure that He will not cause the land to swallow you up, or unleash upon you a storm of stones? Then you may not find anyone to protect you.
Meaning:-
Unleash: to free from, to release from.
17:69
Or do you feel secure that He will not send you back to sea once again, and send upon you a Violent storm, drowning you for your denial? If that happens, then you will not find anyone who can question Us regarding this end of yours.
Meaning:-
Violent Storm: with extremely strong winds and heavy rain.
17:70
It is Our favor that We have honored the children of Adam, blessed them with conveyances on land and sea, provided them with good and pure things and exalted them above many of Our creatures.
Meaning:-
conveyance: a means of transportation; a vehicle.
17:71
Just imagine the scene of that Day when We shall call every community with their respective Imams (leaders): then those who will be given their ‘book of deeds’ in their right hand will read it with pleasure and they will not be wronged in the least.
17:72
But those who have played blind in this world will be blind in the hereafter, and ˹even˺ far more astray from the ˹Right˺ Way.
Meaning:-
Astray: into error, away from the correct path or direction
17:73
Verily, they were about to tempt you away from that which We have revealed (the Quran) unto you (O Muhammad), to fabricate something other than it against Us, and then they would certainly have taken you a friend!
Meaning:-
Fabricate: falsify, fake, invent or concoct (something), typically with deceitful intent.
17:74
If We had not made you stand firm, you would almost have inclined a little towards them.
Meaning:-
Firm: Strongly felt and unlikely to change.
Inclined: interested in something.
17:75
In that case, We would have made you taste a double portion (of punishment) in this life and a double portion (of punishment) after death. And then you would have found none to help you against Us.
17:76
They almost scare you off the land, to expel you from it. If they do so, they will not be able to stay here much longer after you.
Meaning:-
Expel: to force to leave, to force someone out.
17:77
(This is Our) course with regard to those of Our messengers whom We sent before you, and you shall not find a change in Our course.
17:78
Keep the prayer established, from the declining of the sun until darkness of the night, and the Qur’an at dawn; indeed the angels witness the reading of the Qur’an at dawn.
Meaning:-
Declining: nearing its end.
Dawn: the first appearance of light in the sky before sunrise.
17:79
During a part of the night, pray Tahajjud, an additional prayer for you (O Muhammad), very soon your Lord may exalt you to ‘Maqam-e-Mahmood’ (a station of great glory).
17:80
And say, “My Lord! Grant me an honourable entrance and an honourable exit and give me a supporting authority from Yourself.”
17:81
And say, “Truth has come, and falsehood has departed. Indeed is falsehood, [by nature], ever bound to depart.”
17:82
We have revealed the Qur’an which is a healing and a mercy to the believers, while to the wrongdoers it adds nothing but loss.
Meaning:-
Wrongdoer: a person who behaves illegally or dishonestly; an offender.
17:83
Man is a strange creature: when We bestow Our favors on man, he turns his back and drifts off to one side (instead of coming to Us) and whenever evil touches him, he gives himself up to despair.
Meaning:-
Bestow: an honor, right, or gift
Drifts: a driving movement or force; impulse; impetus; pressure.
Despair: the complete loss or absence of hope.
17:84
O Prophet say to them: “Everyone acts according to his own disposition; but only your Lord knows best who is on the Right Way.”
Meaning:-
Disposition: temperament, nature, character, constitution, mentality
17:85
They put you questions about Ar-Ruh (the Spirit). Tell them: “The Spirit is at my Lord’s command and I am not given any knowledge of it but a little.”
17:86
And if We willed We could surely take away that which We have revealed to you by inspiration (i.e. this Quran). Then you would find no protector for you against Us in that respect.
17:87
But your Lord has blessed you with this knowledge; surely His goodness to you has been great indeed.
17:88
Say, “If mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants.”
17:89
In this Qur’an We have used different methods to make the people understand the Message, but most of mankind refuse (the truth and accept nothing) but disbelief.
17:90
And they say: “We shall not believe in you (O Muhammad), until you cause a spring to gush forth from the earth for us;
Meaning:-
Spring: Spring means a source of water from the ground.
Gush: to flow out, forcibly, sudden overflow.
17:91
or until a garden of date-palms and grapes be created for you and you cause rivers to flow in it;
17:92
or until you cause the sky to fall upon us in pieces as you have threatened us; or you bring Allah and the angels before us face to face,
17:93
or until you have a house of gold, or you ascend to the sky – we shall not even believe in your ascendance until you bring down to us a book that we can read.” O Muhammad, tell them: “Glory to my Lord. I am only man and a messenger.”
Meaning:-
Ascend: go up or climb., rise through the air.
Ascendance: increasingly successful or powerful.
17:94
Nothing prevented people from belief when guidance came to them except the excuse: “What! Has Allah sent a man like us to be a Messenger?”
Meaning:-
Prevent : to hold or keep back.
17:95
O Muhammad, tell them: “Had there been in the earth angels walking about as settlers, We would certainly have sent down to them an angel from heaven as a Messenger.”
17:96
Say, “Sufficient is Allah as Witness between me and you. Indeed he is ever, concerning His servants, Acquainted and Seeing.”
Meaning:-
Acquainted: make someone aware of or familiar with.
17:97
And whoever Allah guides – he is the [rightly] guided; and whoever He sends astray – you will never find for them protectors besides Him, and We will gather them on the Day of Resurrection [fallen] on their faces – blind, dumb and deaf. Hell will be their home. Whenever its flames die down, We will flare it up for them.
Meaning:-
Astray: into error, away from the correct path or direction
Flare: a sudden brief burst of bright flame.
17:98
That is their recompense, because they denied Our verses and said: “When we have become bones and dust, shall we really be raised in a new creation?’
17:99
Can they not see that Allah Who has created the heavens and the earth has power to create the people like them? He has set a deadline for their lives, there is no doubt about it: yet the wrongdoers refuse to do anything except deny.
Meaning:-
Wrongdoer: a person who behaves illegally or dishonestly; an offender.
17:100
Say (to the disbelievers): “If you possessed the treasure of the Mercy of my Lord (wealth, money, provision, etc.), then you would surely hold back (from spending) for fear of (being exhausted), and man is ever miserly!”
Meaning:-
Miserly: stingy, unwilling to spend any money.
17:101
We surely gave Moses nine clear signs. ˹You, O Prophet, can˺ ask the Children of Israel. When Moses came to them, Fir’on (Pharaoh) said to him, “I really think that you, O Moses, are bewitched.”
Meaning:-
Bewitched: cast a spell on and gain control over (someone) by magic.
17:102
Musa replied: “You know it very well that no one except the Lord of the heavens and the earth has sent down these signs as eye-openers, and O Fir’on (Pharaoh), surely I think that you are doomed.”
Meaning:-
Doomed: certain to fail, die, or be destroyed
17:103
So Fir’on (Pharaoh) wanted to scare the Israelites out of the land ˹of Egypt˺, but We drowned him and all of those with him.
17:104
Thereafter We said to the Children of Israel: “Settle down in the land and when the promise of the hereafter comes to be fulfilled, We shall assemble you all together.”
17:105
We have revealed the Qur’an in Truth, and with the Truth it has come down: and O Muhammad, We have sent you only to give good news to the believers and to warn the unbelievers.
17:106
We have divided the Qur’an into sections so that you may recite to the people with deliberation, and We have sent it down in gradual revelations to suit particular occasions.
Meaning:-
Deliberation: long and careful consideration or discussion, slow and careful movement or thought.
17:107
Say, “Believe in it or do not believe. Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it – when it is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration,
Meaning:-
Prostrate: lying stretched out on the ground with one’s face downward, especially in reverence or submission.
17:108
and say, ‘Glory be to our Lord! Our Lord’s promise has been fulfilled.’
17:109
And they fall upon their faces weeping, and the Qur’an increases them in humble submission.
17:110
O Prophet, say to them: “Whether you call Him Allah or call Him Rahman; it is all the same by whichever name you call Him because for Him are all the Finest names. Offer your prayer neither in too loud a voice nor in too low a voice but seek a middle course
17:111
and say: “Praise be to Allah, the One Who has begotten no son and Who has no partner in His Kingdom; nor He is helpless to need a protector, and glorify His greatness in the best possible way.”
Meaning:-
Begotten which means to father or produce as offspring (Offspring: a person’s child or children).
